A coupla' months ago I went canoeing with this character

Well in the meantime he was 'beetled' and now looks like this:

My shot took out his lungs and looks like he survived a prior shot to the head with a two blade!? :scared:
How many lives do these guys have?
Nice hog !!! I would like to hear more about your hunt. What was your setup?
Bill
Nice work...and a great pic!!
Nice!
Is that a broadhead hole in the top of his skull? Oops, nevermind, I just went back up and read under your pic!
They sure can be tough. I have killed several that had broadhead/bullet wounds that were healed over, but never one in the head like that.
Congrats on a great hog!

Nothing about hogs surprises me. Incredible animals. That is one cool skull.
WOW!!! Nice job!
Cool!
What a unique trophy! Good job!
Wow Bjorn! Interesting & totally cool, kinda like you!!
That's too cool Bjorn! I love skull mounts. One tough critter there! Thanks for sharing.
I once skinned a turkey to find #6 shot under the skin. I use #5 or #4. I thought that was cool. This is just straight ridiculous. Great trophy you've got.
Very cool. The first hog I ever shot was around an 80# I shot it the first time and hit a little far back in the ribs. We started trailing it and when we got to it it was still alive so I shot it again in the head. Now the hog has an arrow sticking out both sides of it's rib cage what would later be determined a liver shot and an arrow sticking out it's head. Wouldn't you know the dern thing still didn't die so I put a 3rd arrow right through the boiler room. With all 3 arrows in it it still ran 80 yards before finally dying.
I guess my question would be.....What happened to the guy that buried that broad head right in the middle of that pigs forehead??? :scared: :scared: And failed!!! I'm guessin' it didn't make the pig very happy!!
Dang Bjorn that was a tough old bird!!!!
Congrats!!!!
Thats pretty darn cool. I would like to know what happend to the guy that put that hole there also. Nice one.
Way to go, Bjorn.
COOL  The skull looks AWESOMEEE
Nice hog! That skull mount should look pretty cool.
Excedrin headache ???
Nice trophy !
One tough critter!
Nice!! I am never shocked by their ability to keep on after a bad wound. On a hunt in Texas one of they guys in our group killed one that had been shot on three previous occasions. One shoulder wound that was almost healed one in the brisket still oozing blood and one in the hams that was crawling with maggots that made the smell so bad we couldn't stay close to it for long.
The hog charged the guy and took a steal force to the throat. Those critters are tough.
Chris
Great job my friend !!!!!!
It proves why you dont take head shots
Wow! Very cool!
WOW, that is a tuff critter. Was the BH in the brain cavity?
Cool skull. Great job getting that hog.

Nice hog,now where is the story.
turkey, I posted the hunt tread on here a few months ago but can't remember what I called it and can't find it. Sorry
Mike, the BH was not in the cavity-I pushed a two blade in the hole and it penetrated about an inch, so I'm guessing the arrow and head fell out. Gives me the heebie geebies just to think about it!
Wow! Aint that something! Thanks and congratulations.
Bjorn: Almost looks like that hole in the noggin could have been caused by a 4-blade Zwickey Delta. Are there a couple of slits at about 1 and 7 o clock? The relatively rugged bleeders on the Zwickey would act to retard penetration in bone.
Very nice trophy, BTW.
Cool mount Bjorn. May have to do that if I ever kill another one!!!
BOB
Amazing. Makes your cool mount even cooler.
One of those critters is on my bucket list. I do have couple of connections in CA and have wondered about doing that hunt. I have never hunted hogs and would like to hear more about how you hunt them. I see some guys hunt by posting around feeders. Is that the predominate way one goes about it?
they're like little armored cars with bad attitudes...
That's a great mount! That's not only a great one for you but the 2 blade hole makes a fella wonder about the story behind it. Very cool!!!
Orion I think you may indeed be correct there are some extra breaks in the bone that could have been caused by bleeders.
The points are broken off the lower tusks and he had scar tissue all over his shoulders-a warrior for sure.
And to think I almost left the skull. Could only have been better if there were a small Roper BH still inside the noggin! :)
