Anyone know much about them? Am looking at a used one but i don't know anything about them. I believe the bowyer is out of colorado from what i can find. Are they even still made? Any input is appreciated. thanks
Here's the place to check some out, they had a few when I was there. Nice looking bows.

Do a search here for rampart. Quite a bit of info. Nice bows.
Nice, quality bow. Yes, they are still being made the last I heard.
We have 3 Ramparts at home. I have a recurve and longbow and my daughter has a recurve. There are always several of them at the range when we have 3D competitions. I flat out love Ramparts. Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear is where we buy them. In fact RMSG is where we buy everything. Go to their website (rmsgear.com) and you will see tons of bows for sale along with a few Ramparts. They are a sponsor here also. You should call them to see if they are still being made though because I heard otherwise. Tav
Great bows that are under appreciated & under rated.
Buy it
Wonderful bows. They are no longer being made. The bowyer has terminal cancer and may have at this writing already moved onto other hunting grounds...

Best bow that most people have never heard of! I sold mine because it was a little to short for my long draw. My wife still has hers she pulls 43# @28" and gets about 165fps with a 500gr arro, so these bows perform with the best. John was a finish carpenter by trade and the fit and finish on his bows is as good as it gets! Buy it, you will be pleased!
Very sorry to hear John is no longer making bows. I have a beauty he made of all Osage. It is a great shooting bow. Have almost sold it a few times thinking I could always get another. Now I will surely hang on to this one

yeah, my first Rampart was Osage with Bamboo limbs, it was a 58" bow though and with my 31" draw it just didn't work, but man was it a shooter, I then replaced it with a 60" Rampart and it was a little short too. I'm not sure if he made anything longer than 60" but think I've seen a 62" He made some sweet longbows too, know of a couple guys that replaced their Pronghorns with his longbows, they were smoother and faster. John is one of the nicest people I've ever met and was always so happy to make somebody happy with one of his bows. I'm praying for a miracle for him!
My Rampart is 62" and 54# @ 28" I had never heard of them but I like the look of it. Very understated. Bought it from RMS and figured if I didn't like it I could always resell it. When I got it it just fit my hand so nice. Shot really well for me right from the start.
I just looked and RMS has no Ramparts listed in inventory
RMSG, best trad. shop in USA, plenty of Ramparts.

Sadly Britt, they show none on the inventory page and I know there was very few if any on the shelf the other day when I was in there. I sold mine two weeks ago. I hope somebody buys his forms and keeps making them.
Wow, I didn't know about the terminal cancer. Prays out to him and his family.
