Title: Flu flu help
Post by: BassBow on March 15, 2013, 10:07:00 AM
I have some flu flus ready to fletch up on my traditional only shafts. I shoot a 50# das dalaa. My draw is 27.5. I am looking to use them for small game and potential aerial targets. My question is....should I go with 3 or 4 feathers? Thanks!

I used 3 - 5" pieces of a full length feather and they work just fine. I have shot a pheasant out of the air with these arrows and they will fly about 80-100yds.

I don't like flu flu's for small game. Too slow and noisy. Great for Ariel though.

I pretty much agree with magnus on this one. I only use my flu-flus for arial stuff. I use regular arrows for rabbits, squirrels and such.

You will need to experiment with different combos to get the flight distance and noise level you like. Keep a pair of sharp scissors in your pocket for fletch tuning. IN FLIGHT ARCHERY  guide DVD has good tips.
