When you make up arrows for hunting or targets, how many do you make??
I usually make a dozen. Mostly because once I start it seems easier.
I usually make 6 at a time. That is what my JoJan Multifletcher holds at one time.
I just made up 6 this afternoon!

6 cause if I have 12 then I loose that many more at a time
6 to 12 most of the time.
One to 12 and they all may be different(same weight and spine) but decorated different.MY pals will tell you all about it. MIKE
1 dozen at a time.
I usally make a dozen, but leave one bare for checking my tune every now and then.
For my use I usually make up 16 woods. Hap
When I do wood arrows it is usually 3-4 dozen at a time. I will usually get 8-16 that I consider hunting grade, everything else is target to roving grade.
When making carbons, a dozen at a time.
12
I normally make up 12.Three are bare shaft,3 are fletched with field points.Six are set up with broadheads. After some time,I'll fletch at least 2 of the bare shafts to replace any that might get damaged.
I get em by the dozen but I generally make up 6 at a time.
Carbons 6 or 12. With woods I bought 100 shafts so ill make 6-16 at a time depending on how many are matched in that spine/weight group.
I make 6 at a time, unless I'm making a dozen to donate. Once I get done with 6, I have something different I want to try and don't have to worry about loosing a dozen before I can attempt it.
I make a dozen since that seems to be the standard portion that you can buy shafts/feathers/inserts/points/etc.
I leave 3 bareshaft for tuning then fletch 2 of the bareshafts after tuning. This leaves me one bareshaft to check for tuning issues until I'm down to about 3-4 arrows. Then I'll fletch my last shaft and those 3-4 become roving arrows when I make up a new batch of 12 for my next set.
Right now I have 1 set 12 of carbons tuned to my bow and then my "roving batch" is about 6-9 arrows of varying configurations.
Carbon 12, with wood whatever they group to, some sets of 22, some of 13, just depends on the bulk lot I get
Very interesting answers and reasons. I usually do a dozen-but won't leave less than 6 in the same spine/weight range-and have dozens of arrows of various spines/wood type in boxes. For hunting, I always have at least 6 with broadheads, sharpened and ready to go, and 3 or 4 with field points for practice and another couple with judo points. If I run low, I have been known to add woody weights and go up in spine to what I have ready to use.
At least a dozen, my last set there were 19. When I get down to 6 or 7 I either build or buy another set. I won't start a hunting season without at least a matched dozen.
