Title: footed arrows
Post by: RunninWild77 on March 14, 2013, 12:39:00 PM
Hey guys, any of you ever foot your own arrows ? Reason why I'm asking is I have a few arrows around that are still very good but I either goofed and cut them a little short or they've broke just a little to short for me. I'd just take them and turn them into kids arrows but they're spined 70 lbs and they're pretty heavy. Money's tight nowadays so I'm curious if its even worth it? Do I need any special tools or can I make my own? Thanks guys, Walt.

There are some tutorials on this site.  Pretty easy to make a two -point foot with a block plane and small back cut (Japanese) saw or even a hacksaw.

I've seen good results with the Reparrow.  Much quicker and easier than a regular foot.

Both those methods work great.  The 1st method is the cheapest by far, but more labor intensive.

Yep.  I forgot about the reparrow.  Have taken to using those myself.  A lot easier and faster.
