Title: Easton 2117
Post by: Jack Wright on March 13, 2013, 10:59:00 PM
Could easton 2117's be shot out of a 62" 54@28.5 Toelke whip. I have used wood's spined at 62-67 since I got her but have a deal working for some 2117's. I dont know anything about aluminum arrows.

I shoot them out of a 48# @ 31" longbow.  I leave them full-length, and have 175-grains on the tips, if I remember right.

Just leave them full-length, then try to bareshaft tune on by just changing point weight.  Ideally, if you get enough weight to make them just a tad weak, then start taking 1/4" off the shaft at a time.  When it flies like a dart, that will be your length at that point weight.

That sounds real close, I shoot 2117 out of a similar set up. You may have to tinker with point weight and brace height to get it just right.

I shoot 54#@29" 58" ILF recurve and a Chastain Wapiti Spike 2pc longbow of the same weight and use 31" 2117 with 175 grain points.

I shoot 2117's from all my bows. From 52-58# at my 27" draw. I have them cut 28.5" and I shoot 125/135/160 grain broadheads from all arrows.
