My name came up. I told him I would call back next week with my choices. My only requirements are two piece, 60 inch and double carbon. Help me out here guys I don't want to say later I should have gotten that. Pics appreciated.
Look at the Dark Matter T/D (as I understand, the only riser material that Jim will do in a T/D) on the front page of his site.
That's the 58" triple carbon with moccasin skins that he built for me! Sweet bow!
The only 2 pieces jim makes are the Dark matters so you will be able 2 pick riser accents. Stippling is a personal choice that some people love. I prefer a sure grip myself. No matter what you choose it will be AWESOME!
Super bows....and the DM may be the ticket for many.
What is the wood used in the dark matter.
I would say definitely go for the triple carbon. Makes a very sweet bow. Quieter than the double carbon, imho.
Sounds like I have the same problem! I come up in April and still banging my head.
This one has olive ash on the belly, bacote riser, bighorn sheep horn on tips, thumb rest and front of riser finger grooves. Carbon on the back.
what is it that we need to do to get some of you folks to NOT post images wider than 640???
Woops, sorry about that. I thought I had them sized correctly.

Dark Matter is a proprietary tough material which adds ~5 1/2 oz. to the over-all mass.
The additional mass has still resulted in a physically light wt. bow.
I got a dark matter with bocote scales 3 weeks ago would not change a thing. 58" 57@28 triple carbon stay tuned for my review.
Will where the pic's? The pep's need to see!
I also have the Chimera model with Olive Ash on the Belly beautiful wood with dark Cocobola.

I do recommend getting the XTL lam in the core as it add stability and makes for a more forgiving bow for less than perfect form.
This is my newest Chimera with Cocobola riser and Myrtle burl belly. This one has the XLT Lam and is 2# heavier draw, but really shoots a flat arrow!

You can have the Dark Matter with wood scales, if you want the wood to be showed cased.
I must say that olive ash is spectacular. any other pics?
get the xtl lam, I don't shoot good enough to notice the stability, but it's definetly quieter that just the dbl carbon.
Don't let Larry kid ya, he shoots plenty well enough to notice a lot!! One of the better I know ecsp. with his Centaurs. Shawn
personally, ide get the Chimera with XTL.... find out what kind of really nice woods Jim has on hand for the belly. Of all ive shot I like the Chimera best, cant quite put my finger on it, but just enjoyed shooting it more then even the triple carbon.
FYI .. Jim has a really nice Chimera in the Sponsor Ads listed for a very good price .. and no waiting!!!
I agree with Lamey, I've owned 4 Centaurs 1 Carbon Elite, 1 Triple Carbon and the 2 Chimera's, I prefer the Chimera for the way they shoot and for the beauty of the woods :bigsmyl:
I like to cover the Carbon on the back with skins also because i prefer the more traditional look.
As for loss in performance to me my form is too inconsistent from shot to shot to worry about 4-5 fps different in them over the Elite.
I shot my triple carbon this evening. This is not going to be an easy decision. How much of a performance difference can I expect between a Chimera with XTL lam and a triple carbon?
This is off of Jim's website:
Question 3. What is the performance difference between the Glass bow, Chimera and the Carbon Elite?
Answer: Chimera will be roughly 4 to 5 fps quicker than the glass bow and the Carbon Elite will be about 4 fps quicker than Chimera.
Those olive ash Centaurs are Awesome !!! :notworthy:
Bill
I've put it off as long as I can. I need to call Jim tomorrow. If I order a triple carbon, would it be possible to have wood veneer on the belly or amI committed to the black belly?
You will have to ask Jim on that one, but I would think the extra lam would slow the performance down defeating the purpose of the Triple Carbon.
It either you want total performance (Triple Carbon), All beauty (Glass), or a compromises (Chimera) Jims got you covered :bigsmyl:
I agree with the others...I've had the triple and the Chimera, I prefer the Chimera...I don't think you can get veneers on the triple carbon.
My personal opinion on the matter is that if you are shooting under 17 yards then it doesn't matter which bow you are shooting. Past that the triple carbon really shines!
I talked to Jim earlier today. Here is the deal. 58 inch Centaur Chimera 2 piece, with XTL laminate. Olive ash belly lams and stippled grip. Gotta go take some pics. I need to sell some bows quick!
Olive Ash like this :goldtooth:

I think you love it!
Olive ash EXACTLY like that that!
I talked to Jim on Friday. My new bow should be in the mail this week. I'm sure it will get here quick as it is a short box.
:bigsmyl:
Okay, Eric. Pictures and review as soon as you can get her up and shootin'.
You will definately be pleased with Jim's work!
