I hate to admit it, but I've kinda been ignoring my Thunder Child T/D as I have been shooting a couple of other bows :( . Decided this evening after work that I was going to give her a work out.
Man, I have forgotten how sweet a bow this is and it can really shoot! I shoot it as well as my 60 and 62" longbows and recurves. Really likes those nose heavy, high FOC arrows! :archer2:
This one is a custom 54" take-down, 55# @ 28", snakewood limbs with gabbon eboney (sp) riser (of course with a black beavertail grip)that the Big Guy built for me this past May. In fact, it was my 50th birthday present that my wife bought me (luv that woman). I really need to get some photos up if I can get P. Bucket working again for me!
Looks like it's going to stay strung up and rotate into the shooting line-up again!
Man you let dust get on yours  :dunno:
I have 2 Buffs and want to try a Thunderchild. Bob we need to get together!
I just recently tried imgur.com as rob d has suggested and its soo much easier than photobucket. Photobucket always seemed to crash my computer but imgur is fast and easy. Ive never seen any of big jims bows in person but hope he comes to KY tradfest.
Marc,
I'll pm you my phone number.
Thanks, jsh. I'll have to try and see if easier to use than PB.
Jim is a stand up guy. He was actually planning on building this bow for himself, but when I explained my situation (birthday present from wife - turning 50) he made the changes to suit my desires and treated me great! Nothing but praise for Jim!
I've got a 56" Thinderchild that is 53#@27" (my draw). Bocote and Hawaiian Koa. Awesome bow and Big Jim was an absolute pleasure to deal with.
If there is something I need and he sells it, he gets my business.
Amen on that, brother. I've bought feathers, field points and broadheads, blinds, etc. from the gentle giant.
I met Big Jim at the last ATAR and really liked the Buffalo bows. I wish I had tried the TC then.
Thanks guys, jshperdue, we will definately be in KY. Great shoot and wouldn't miss it.
Talked with Randy G (of the Ky shoot) last night and it promises to be a good one.
Lots of enthusiasim in KY.
take care, bigjim
Had my 54" TC on the market but after shooting it the other day I decided to keep it, the more I shoot it the more I like it. :bigsmyl:
Hey Bob, bring that thing to Baltimore, I would love to shoot and try out one of them Thunderchild's, and yes Big Jim is first class all the way, wont meet a nicer person
I bought one of Jim's recurves and a buff a month ago. Both are awesome. I have a rack of great bows but Jim's are probably the nicest. One spot left and I'm pretty sure a thunder child will be there. As soon as I find a TD 56" 48-53#
hint, hint, hint
Love my TCs and my buffs
iam still debating if I need anotherT TC or another buff

Mark around here we say Hinton is in West Virginia
I think we have both come to place where its a Bear TD or Big Jim that's going to woods with us. :D
You are just teasing me! I'm still waiting for my TC, it should be in the works soon, I can barely wait, I keep expecting the phone to ring from Georgia any time..................

Sorry! Pictures were taken with my phone!
Love that Snakewood with Gabbon Ebony riser. Horn on back and tips is Reed Buck.
Nice looking TC, I need to shoot it :D
10-4 on that! Hey, I'll give you a call in the morning. I'll try to get in touch with you before things get crazy!
Bob,
I don't have the beaver tail on my TC handle. I've been thinking about getting him to put one on it. If you get a chance i'd like to look at yours sometime.
When I got mine....it shot where I looked from the 1st shot...and the 1st shot on game, a little hog, was dead on....pun intended. :D
She's a beaut....after seeing all those Dalmatian ebony's ...I just had to have one!!!
Ken,
The beaver tail is worth every penny, once you feel it you will have to get it on your bow.
Nice shot Terry :D
Yeah...the beaver tail is like a natural pachmayr grip.
Let me chime in, good memories from the lease I had, my first TC

I'm afraid I really will like it. I just hate to cover up that beautiful Bacote!

Have to agree with Terry. My TC just hits where I look. Nice to have a shorter bow that I enjoy shooting as much as my beloved MOABs.
Purdy, purdy!! Luv that Bocote!

Kind of switching topics from my TC, but this site really works for posting pics on TG! I think that there is something under the "Computers" section as well.
