Title: Favorite longbow with recurve grip
Post by: Bob Stager on August 24, 2007, 07:14:00 PM
I was wondering what your favorite longbow was with a recurve grip is.I am going to have to drop down in weight and I think my next longbow should have a grip closer to a recurve.
THANKS BOB

Caribow Silverfox & I think the Bob Lee take down longbow has more of a recurve grip as well.

Centaur has a good grip, and great performance.  Toelke Whip has a very comfortable grip, also.  Morrison Dakota is another which can be had with a recurve grip.

The nontypical looks good. The whip is one of the ones I am thinking of trying. Any other ideas?  BOB

Mikutas offer a larger riser with some mass, with thumb rest which makes for positive hand placement. Below are pics of my bow and one of my customers...

Lots of good bows out there for sure.  I think there is a better selection of really good bows today than there ever has been.

Here's a Firefly we have in stock with a high grip.  And Jim will build you one any way you want it of course.

The grip is one of the most important features of a bow for me, and one of my favorite things about the Firefly, although I prefer the standard medium grip on mine.

Good luck on your search, the process is half the fun!

A second vote for the Horne Brushbow. I just got mine but the grip is very comfortable.

Bob, you can't go wrong with a Whip! But all the bows listed above are good shooters as well. I guess it all come's down to personal preference. Good hunting,    Leonard.

Zipper Extreme with Longbow limbs that I received in the mail on Friday. I got to shoot them today and they are very quick and smooth drawing. A very different feel from my Longbow grips. May take some getting used to.
