Title: Turkey hunt in CO for marines back on leave
Post by: troutremble on March 12, 2013, 01:02:00 PM
I am looking for a place to take my son and one of his platoon turkey hunting in early May when they get back from Afganistan. I normally hunt public land here in CO but would like to take them somewhere private with a little higher success rate. It would have to be otc, any help with this would be appreciated. They will only have a few days and the date is not nailed down yet, I just know their leave will start early May. Coyote hunting would be an option they would enjoy as well.

That's going to be great.  I came back to PA directly after my last tour in Afghanistan, I went right out into the woods.  It was like stepping into heaven.  My eyes didn't know what to do with all of the colors in the woods, my nose didn't know what to do with all the fresh air, the sound of the birds was sweet music.  I was with family and no one was trying to kill me.  The overload of goodness was almost paralyzing, I will never forget that feeling, I am still grateful every time I step into the woods, but I don't think the feeling will ever be as strong as that first time.
