Title: Moab
Post by: S.C. Hunter on March 10, 2013, 05:57:00 PM
How do you like your Moab bow? What do find that you like most about your Moab? Have you tried a Moab if so how did you like the bow? If you have a picture to share that would be great.

They are my favorite longbow.  Smooth, quiet, shockfree, smokin' fast.
I own 8 longbows.  The only one I own more than one of is my MOABs.
Aside from the qualities I first mentioned, the thing that makes them hard to put down is they just hit where I'm aiming.
There are several MOAB fans here, I'm sure they'll chime in.

As the owner of 2 MOABs the thing that I like best is the grip....absolutely perfect for me and my hand. Fits like a glove which makes them both a dream to shoot.

This past season in the deer woods.

There are a pile of threads about MOABs and a lot with pic's. Do a search and you will keep busy for a while.

I love mine. Best 60" D/R 1 pc. bow I have ever shot, but I have not shot them all yet.  Still looking for a Kanati to try out.

Great looking bow. Is this standard or were extras added to your bow?

I shot one a couple of weeks ago and was impressed with how it felt in the had... Nice grip. It was also plenty fast and I actually shot it very well even though I was shooting the opposite side I normally shoot.  The downside was I thought it was a little 'Shocky' after the release as compared to my Toelke Whip, but not that bad.

I would deinately an one if I did not already have a couple of great shooting bows.

Funny I shoot MOAB's all the time and find the whip to have a little more thump.  I have shot more than a couple of each.  Nothing annoying or what I would call shock.  Could be an individual bow thing or brace height.  Could also be the fact you have the bow in the hand you normally don't shoot with so hard to compare. I kind of think we get used to the way a particular bow shoot and its vibration.  We don't notice it anymore but notice a slightly different vibration in other bows. I know I have shot a heavy riser recurve for a while then noticed more thump in the hand when I have gone back to D/R bows.

If you do a search, you will find lots of info and pics without waiting and hoping folks will re-post.

I have 4...all 60 inchers...and shot several others.  I have found NO negatives to speak of...and certainly no hand shock in ANY of the ones I shot.

Good speed, quiet, smooth on the draw and gentle on the release....I like the grip also.  Too busy to post pics...but I've posted them before...

Nice bows for sure.

I really do think this is the BEST site out there and for the most part folks respect other people's opinions.  However, I find a comment made on my experience just a bit offensive.

Please respect each others opinions even if you don't agree.  I was just attempting to share my experience and not put the Moab product down.  I think it is a well built bow that I would be proud to own also.

Rick,

Sorry you took offense at my comment. I didn't intend to be critical of your experience or anything you said. I guess I didn't word things the best. I was just commenting on how different people get different impressions and maybe at times due to something about a particular bow or the way that bow is shot our tuned.

I have had three bows I loved at one point. One i owned and two I borrowed and shot a lot. I got a little heavier version of the one I owned, and my own bows very close to the ones I shot and liked. I couldn't get any of them as quiet and nice shooting as the ones I first tried. I would have said the bows in general were not all that quiet our dead in the hand if I had not personally shot the same models but different bows with much better results. I have since shot more of them amd liked them all. I just got some duds in those the instances. Something with limb timing our woods used. I don't know.

I do know I never see any ugly, slow, hand shocking, and not smooth to draw  bows listers for sale our reviewed on pow wow. But I sure have shot a few with more than one of those characteristics after lots of good reviews so I like to see some honest critical comments posted.

Todd,

I just got my "panties in a wad" and probably should not have responded the way I did.  My apology.

No harm no foul.

Finally got one a couple months ago and love the feel over my original thunderstick I own. That thunderstick shoots right where I aim and I am sure the moab will when I can get this broken leg/blown out knee fixed and get back on my feet. Did a ton of research and was finally able to find a used one...Best of luck..Scott

Thanks everyone for your input. I figured they were a good bow but it always helps to get input. I had a Mag stick and let it go, wish I had kept that one. Great short bow. I am liking the fact the Moab is a good shooting short bow.
