Just wondering if anybody has shot one? Was it smooth, quiet, fast etc? Thinking on one.
Yup! Smooth like all Caribows, and noticeably fast! I shot it with a 550 gr. arrow and it was quiet.
Just saw pics
Now that's a nice static tip design
Bob get one so I can try it :goldtooth: :goldtooth:
Anybody else have info?
Back to their website and check again, did'nt see pics of the limb design the 1st time ???!!!???
OK, I got it ! Should be fast and quiet!!
OK, I got it ! Should be fast and quiet!!
I think they just updated with pictures of the strung and unstrung bow. Looks very aggressive now. Reminds me of the RER unstrung profile.
Wow....talkin bout some hooks..!!
Are they hard to string with such HOOKS?????
I have the rer string it with a thunderhorn stringer no problem
Abe's has a nice tight static tip
Rer is the best I've ever owned less than 3 inches string contact on the tips Abe's got it going on :goldtooth:
Anyone considering one of Abe's new EX's will be pleasantly surprised. I think he came up with a real winning combination.
Personally I'm a big fan of static tips for a hunting bow. Properly designed they make for a shorter, quieter , efficient, and easier bow to shoot.
I did a side by side comparison with Abe's new Static with a Morrison ILF with Dryad Epic static limbs that I was shooting at the time. Very similar bows in configuration. For you in the know the Morrison/Dryad set up would be considered very top end in the performance arena.
Well while no scientific measurement were taken, Abe's new bow was just a little nicer to shoot.Especially if you stretched out your draw.
I'd be curious to see the draw force curve of this new model.
I suspect the long draw shooter will be extremely happy.
Along with Abe's artistry and efficient design he came up with, I'm positive we will be seeing some very happy EX owners in the very near future.
Thanks Mo
I could not find any pics of the static on his website. Everybody is building statics now , I think Abe would really build a neat one.
God bless you all, Steve
Hang in there Steve! Got to "models" and then to "Tuktu" EX static tip one piece recurve model 58", 60", 62"
There under you see: "→with Flare riser unstrung and strung". Click on that

No not at all, even by hand..but i'd recommend a bow stringer.
I did enjoy one of Abe's new designs at Kalamazoo, it's on the top of my must have bow list! Quick, quiet and smooth!
Abe makes a great bow. I see that they're also offered as a TD
Are they hard to string?
Not with a stringer. Never plan on doing it without a stringer.
Are they quiet?
Longbow quiet or very close to it. This is compared with my Slynx.
Fast?
Like the Peregrine,Slynx and Wolverine.
Looking for graphs check out my Face book page.
Man, I want one bad!! May have to sell everything I have to get one. They are sweet and Abe has some in stock!!I have my eye on one!! Shawn
Can someone post a pic. of the limb profile I did not see it on the web site! Thanks! Shawn
Shawn if you click on the top of his homepage where is says models there is a strung profile under the tuktu EX. this baby looks fast and smooth.
Great shooting Recurve. fast, and super quiet. I have been a longbow guy for 20 years, But I really like this bow. Ill be shipping it off to Ontario tomorrow or Wednesday to get some checkering on the grip. I told Sergio he can play around with it while it is there. Im sure he will give ya a report on it !

Thanks, I found it. Looks kind of like my Hex-5 limbs. I am working on getting one. Shawn
The master himself is saying that the performance is close to that of the Peregrine or Slynx... So what would be the reason to buy this bow when you own already a Peregrine of Slynx? Would it add something except for having another bow in your collection?
Recurves also are more vulnarable for twisted limbs..
Ad, I am thinking the draw would be much smoother on a static recurve compared to a RD longbow of the same length. Abe correct me if I am wrong.
Smoother then a Peregrine???? I just can't imagine that....
To me the most important thing is the grip! I would like to see pics of the grip from all sides & top ( closeup).
Me too!

The Tuktu is 60" and should be compared to the Slynx I think.
Here is the Tuktu's draw curve taken from Cari-bow's facebook page:

Looks good for a 30" draw.
Slynx

Benefits???
Huge benefits if someone is hunting minded! Think of the ease of ground blind shooting, treestand shooting, limb clearance of obsticles when hunting. I understand not everyone here hunts but think outside the box.
I didn't notice it before but now I saw the Tuktu EX comes in lenghts of 58, 60 or 62 inches. Ofcourse 58 inch will be great for treestand hunting! Forgive me my ignorence Ryan, but I really wasn't aware that 2 inches makes such a huge difference ... (uuuhhmmmm, for bows that is  )
There Is another positive point: most of heavily reflexed LB are verticaly unstable and this may induce trouble in accuracy wh en shooting form Is not perfect or academic like hunting shots may be. I am pretty sure this EX design Is more verticaly stable than the LB line thus potentialy more forgiving. Another point Is the smoothness (on effort curve ) of this design: side by side for the same AMO length there Is no way the LB can be smoother than this static recurve.
Stop this!!!! I was just searching for a good reason NOT to buy an Cari-bow EX!!!!
check out the pics on Abe's F/B....some of the most incredible looking bows i've seen. huge bear shot by a young fellow too. Stunning looking bows!
Dutchman....Too funny...don't tell my wife that!
I think even more than the 2 inches is the fact that the static tip works to an advantage as well. I know for me, I love 62" bows...but..at times the bottom limb and string angle interfere with my leg while hunting.(especially from a tree)
Target shooting I'll stick to 62"ers. One of those 58"ers of Abe's are screaming at me!
Mine EX sure looked good on you the other day Ryan !!!
You almost looked as cool as me....lol

Ryan, I am terribly sorry, I mailed her already.... :readit:
Ohhh darned, one of those Ex-es is screaming my name too. I'm trying to fight this urge.....
To ease your pain. There is already one EX available in stock 62" 48# Just right for you. No need to wait.
This one you mean??? http://www.cari-bow.com/RH_48_Tuktu_EX_bocote.php
This one is even prettier, but has not the right weight: http://www.cari-bow.com/RH_41_Tuktu_EX_wenmar.php
But if I had the money, I would order this one right away: http://www.cari-bow.com/RH_48_Taiga_EX_myrtleebony.php
So if anybody is in excess of money and doesn't know what to do with it, please fund me with US $ 1.200,- It is for a good purpose, you won't regret it!
Yeah the second one is pretty. The 62"one should be smoother for your draw. But don't you already have a nice recurve?
Yes, I have a nice recurve; that is an understatement.
However, it would be nice to have a static tip recurve also.... Just being greedy here..... :dunno:
If ya want it, buy it !!! If you don't, you wont stop thinking about it. But that's just me....lol
Here are the FDC for the 62 "Tuktu EX. I hope to get all 3 lengths on . Hope this works.Upload ImageLoading...

Tuktu Ex 58"
This posting pictures is a pain. I can also give you an Effort graph if your interested.
Boy that is neat to see where the lift off is. I love that 62. The cam is working through most of the entire draw cycle. lift off at 25 inches or perhaps a bit more. That makes for a very quiet bow,. The string rolls right back up on the limb when released with no string slap at all. I believe this alone would make a curved static the way to go for a hunting bow;.
Nice Job sir:
God bless, Steve
Hey guys---there is a left handed Tuktu Exstatic soon to be on its way to Ontario. Can you see my smile?

Congrats! She's a beauty. And a lefty too. Let me know if one day you don't love her anymore.
yesterday afternoon I had a first hand experience with a 3 piece static from Abe. A guy I know just got it and let me shoot it.
Very Nice to look at, and nicer to shoot. Quiet as a church mouse, and it seemed quite quick, considering It was about 50# and I was shooting 750 gr arrows.
Well done Abe.
Pete
Abe's bows are the bomb! I have two of the prettiest and best shooting longbows he has ever made, an Slynx and a Silver Fox.
I am sorry Danny, but you are wrong here.... the best shooting longbow he ever made is the Peregrine... :jumper:
I love this style of bow. Nice work, glad to see these on the market by more bowyers. If you had to separate bows in to shooters or hunters the static is hunter all the way in my book.
I dont think the static has had its day and more guys will appreciate them with the latest woods and materials.
Lou
