Title: New to carbon world?
Post by: britt on March 07, 2013, 12:39:00 PM
I just made a change to carbons. Iam shooting CE 150's 175gr tip. I don't understand all the different sizes of carbons and brands. What other carbons would be equivalent to the CE 150's? Thank you.

3555 and 500 spine in general are close.

The Carbon Express sizes are a little different.
They sort of fit "in between" the regular .500", .400", .300" spines.

CE Heritage 90's = .530"
CE Heritage 150's = .487"
CE Heritage 250's = .373"
CE Heritage 350's = .320"

Consequently, "similar" may be a relative term.  Generally 3555's fall between the 90's and 150's, 5575 fall between 150's and 250's.

AD Trad Lites are comparable to the 3555 and 150's and AD Trads to 250's and 5575's.

With that said,  the AD's are much more forgiving when it comes to tuning.  You can get excellent flight with a variety of tip weights.

The models of the carbon arrows (250, 3555, etc.) don't really tell you much.  The only thing you really need to know and the way you compare across manufacturers is the spine.  So, you are currently shooting a 0.487 static spine arrow and many other manufacturers offer arrows around 0.500 spine that should be very similar out of your setup.  As you move through the manufacturers you will find that some hit slightly different numbers as threeunder pointed out.  The smaller differences are not likely to most setups.
