I spend part of the winter in Texas with Mule Creek Outfitting (sponsor) doing hog and javie bow hunts. We had another good year and several TG members hunted with us. We do 6 weeks of hunts on a lease in west Texas. Two of this year's groups have already reserved for 2014. These hunts fill up by mid summer.

Dan and Ginger Brockman hunted with us and they hunted hard. Ginger was the first woman to take game at our camp with a fine spot & stalk on this javlina.

Sure is a cool looking hog!!
If you could ever say a hog is "good looking"; thats the one! His hair doesn't look brittle like most.
Awesom Shaun. Some fine looking hogs in those pics. Hope you are well my friend!
That tan colored hog sure is a sweetheart! :bigsmyl:
made of gold, eh ....
I've hunted this ranch with Jacob and Shaun and can say they go the extra mile to make sure their hunters have a great experience. There's a bunkhouse with a full kitchen, large room for meals and lounging and full bathroom with a hot water shower. Also a covered skinning and processing station and thousands of acres to hunt. They have many waterholes set up with pop up blinds or natural and/or pit blinds...and their tracking dogs are neat to watch working a blood trail. Great outfitter and a sponsor.

x2. These guys are great and it was a lot of fun sharing camp with them.
If I could've shot a little better, there'd be a hero pic or two of me up there
Nice! Congrats to all your hunters!

I have a few more pictures I'll send you Shaun. Our group bagged 7 hogs this year. Great time on the University ranch as always.
Cool stuff.
Nice Animals.
would like to get down there one day!
Man, I miss Texas!!
I been hearing the good reports about this winters hunts with you - nice to see the pictures!
Info on your hunt?
Grant, check out Mule Creek Outfitting on the drop down list of sponsors or go to

Hog hunts are January and February near Crane in west Texas.
Shaun,
Do you have your tracking dog with you as part of he deal? I never thought of it but I imagine blood is blood to them?
Looks awesome.
Gee, you guys hurt my feelings - it is a neat looking hog, but how about - "boy, he must be a good hunter", "He's got a nice looking bow", or "he's got a great wife" (which Ginger is).
We had a great time hunting with Jacob and Shaun.
A little info for those who haven't hunted hogs - notice the arrow hole on the hog - that's the entrance wound from a low elevated stand and went through the heart - with the hog standing, the leg would be back and alittle higher, but you have to hit them right above the elbow.
I haven't shot a lot of hogs, but that is bar none, the best tasting hog I ever shot. Just finished some bacon - it's great, made boneless chops, some breakfast sausage and italian sausage, and have the hams curing yet ready for the smoker later this week.
Good looking hogs! Looks like I may have to make it out to one of these hunts soon.
Steve O, yep tracking dogs provided. Jacob's jagd terrier Mojo is starting to get good too. We had a couple long and unproductive tracks, but if the pig was dead or down we found em.
Dan and Ginger were great hunters! They put in the time and when opportunity knocked - they answered. We had lots of good sports this season and looking forward to winter of 2014. First have to keep the mule deer, antelope and elk in western WY on their toes in early fall, then back to west Texas next January.
