Title: Shelf shooters.....fletching question?
Post by: mtnbike on March 03, 2013, 10:50:00 AM
On all of my Trad bows I shoot an elevated rest and vanes. I recently acquired a Thunderchild and will need fletch some arrows with feathers. My question is, what angle should I use for four fletch? I have a Bitzenberger jig, can use 90 degree or 75x105.

I've shot four fletch at 90 degrees off the shelf of a Rose Oak King Panther without any issues.  Never tried 75 X 105 degrees.

Either will work well without issue.

Fletch up one of each and have fun with them.  See what you like best.  If you are using carbons you can rotate them around and see what you like for orientations also.

I like 75x105 with the 105 up and down.  Gives me great clearance and the nose anchor position shooting 3 under works well for me also. The standard of the Bitz is the other way so I have to rotate them.

I've always used the 75*x105*
And usually drop down to 4".
Been messing around with 2" too and having real good luck I'm sure someone will jump down my throat saying its not acceptable to shoot 2" with broadheads. But my disclaimer is, I'm shooting foam.
Love 4 fletch!!
