Title: Overdraw and short arrows (tong-a?)
Post by: Schmidtster on March 03, 2013, 02:14:00 AM
Hey, I was just wondering if anyone has used a Bamboo overdraw and short little arrows to shoot. I have seen a couple posts on the internet but no one seems to say the technique, or how it is you could make one of these. I'm interested in trying it but dont want to put an arrow through my hand trying!! I've read that the arrow point is held in by the overdraw so the boo can't be split perfectly down the middle or it will fall out is this correct? does anyone have pics of shooting these?

black widow made a forward mounted handled bow* (A recurve) a few years ago that worked quite well. it shot short arrows...martin also made a compound called the Jaguar, IIRC, that was a forward mounted, adjustable in setback/forward handle, and as i recall, there were some more.

the idea was for lighter, faster arrows...

*i would like to find one of these bows now. i nearly purchased one a few years ago, but it was a 60 pounder...too much draw weight for me....   :dunno:     :(
