How many of you Bow hunters have had to deal with herpes simplex 1? How do you deal with flare ups of blisters around your anchor point, when they are ripped off by the release of the string? My accuracy is affected during outbreaks. Looking for some remedies,
Try heavier wax on your string. May help with lubrication.
Wow man, that sounds painful. I would definitely remove any metal string nocks if you have any and switch to smaller, smoother tie on ones. Other than that.....be grateful that it's just your anchor point that is affected :-)
My dad used to get a lot of fever blisters. This is funny / gross but he would put preparation H ( on the affected area.. not on the "as directed" area) to keep the swelling down. Don't know what he finally did but he doesn't fight em much anymore.
Perhaps try to change your anchor so the string doesnt come as close to your face? I know it may mean losing some length but it may take the focus off your face and back on target.
