Whats you guys opinions on different types of gluse ? I have been using goat tuff for the past 2 years, but have heard of people using loc tite super glue gorilla super glue etc. have any tried these I know you can get them at walmart for like 1/2-1/3 the price of goat tuff, do you think this will work as good for fletching, and especially inserts. Thanks for any input.
I've used the Goat Tuff and a few other brand name super glues and they seem to work about the same. Gorilla Glue Impact tough formula, Loc-tite Professional liquid and my favorite is Pine Ridge Instant arrow glue. The Gorilla Glue and Pine Ridge glues are a thicker formula than the more fluid Loctite. The Pine Ridge sems to set just a little quicker IMO than the others. All these glues have worked really well for me.
I've found that getting inserts to stay in a shaft is all about the prep. I use a .243 rifle bore brush and scuff the inside of the shaft, then I clean the inside of the shaft with a q-tip dipped in acetone before glueing in an acetone cleaned insert.
I really like the Loc-tite gel super glue. Dries nice with no nasty white film and holds perfectly. Also the one with the squeeze applicators is very nice. Shawn
I've started using Ferr-L-Tite Cool Flex Hot Melt by Bohning for inserts in carbons. I melt it easily with a heat gun. It will melt at around 200 degrees and makes alighning broadheads a breeze by simply putting the heads in boiling water and turning your inserts.
I use the gorrila glue super glue for my inserts and it works great
I like loc tite for fletching on wraps and insert in carbons. Ive not had good luck with Goat Tuff
Loctite super glue gel! Great stuff. I use it for fletchings and inserts. Never had a problem and it is nice only using one glue!
Gorilla impact for nocks/wrapping on self bows - 420 locktite for repairs/cracks when refinishing/repairing vintage and self bows (awesome but expense stuff) and Ferr-l-tite (regular) for field/other points....

I have used super glue on inserts I think it drys too hard, its brittle on impact it has a tendecy to shatter an I have lost alot of inserts maybe I should stop missing so much.
Loctite Super glue works for everything, even glueing your fingers together.
I use on my Easton Axis with brass inserts low heat glue stick. I don't even have to clean the shaft. Never had one pulled out. Easy to work with and easy to remove. Fletching I use Platinum over wraps, nocks get Duco. I use wraps so if I mess a feather up I can reuse the shaft.
Supper clue for evrything here also. Get 8 onces for about 4 bucks at the local hobby shop. Its close cheap and it works.
I tend to use the blue cap gorilla super glue since i can get it anywhere. So far so good.
Thanks guys seems like loc tite blue cap and gorilla super tough are the best anyone else
Super glue for inserts and fletching for me (and many other things).
Loctite super glue gel or gorrila super glue for inserts , had great luck with both . Have used both for fletching but normally use fletchtite platinum because it works great and you get alot more for the price .
I use Loctite that has a brush applicator for fletching. It can be hard to find but the brush makes it easy to get just the right amount of glue on the fletch.
I use the gorilla super glue for my inserts. It has some rubber in it, which allows for a little "give" when hitting a hard stump. DON'T USE IT ON YOUR FLETCHINGS! I put a dab at both ends of my feathers (I use fletching tape) and the glue expands when drying- creating a raised, sharp surface that snags. Had a few fletches rip off when my arrow went through a hay bale. Had to sand the rest down. Plain old Crazy glue worked better for this.
3m emblem adhesive from oreilys auto $11bucks get you almost a life time of glue just fill up a squeeze. Bottle and it works good and remember to warm it. I just take and get hot matter out pf the tap and drop my squeeze bottle in it get stuff ready and it's warm snuff it just takes a lil bit longer to dry but works good
Super glue gel for fletching. Jb weld for my inserts.
Super Glue Gel, it works great for fletching. God bless.
I use the super glues only in a field-fix situation. I prefer hot-melt.
Gorilla super glue Hi Impact for nocks and inserts. blue loctite professional for fletch.

Steve
