Title: Vintage Treestands
Post by: southpawshooter on February 25, 2013, 08:44:00 AM
I was doing some post season scouting with Bamboo and found this innovative vintage treestand.  What are some of the oddest treestands you have come across?

I have a woods that I started hunting about 18 years ago and there is an old wood stand in a old oak by a swamp area.  My grandaddy said that stand was there in the 60's when they moved there.  There is a reason that hunter put that stand there its a hot spot.  Myself and my grandaddy shot alot of deer out of there.  I often catch myself sitting in my stand looking about 15 yards down the trail at that stand and wonder who hunted out of it what kind of equipment did they use and how many deer have been shot out of it.

I believe that stand is so old, (and dangerous)that it was used by Otzi, the Iceman.     ;)        :D
It's from an age before lawsuits.
Otzi was found underneath the stand.

I wouldn't be surprised if that old drum, way back in the woods like that, a long time back, didn't have some corn in it at one time...and sugar.
