Title: Timberhawk Falcon Longbow ?
Post by: Tradcat on February 24, 2013, 08:41:00 PM
Ok Gang...I'm considering a new or used Timberhawk Falcon Longbow and wondered if anyone owns one or has shot one to give me the feedback that I need before pulling the trigger...I'd love to hear what you have to say about them. Thanks

Great craftsmanship. I would get one if I shot longbows.... I shoot a Timberhawk recurve currently.

I was just at Scott's shop a few weeks ago. Awesome craftsmanship, beautiful bows. I ordered a Monarch recurve. Scott is a great guy.  He spent a lot of time with me choosing the bow I wanted. You will be very happy if you get one.

I've not yet owned one but I did try out his long bows at Denton hill two years ago and wow they are some sweet shooters! Very comparable to a black widow. No hand shock, might be a touch heavier than what you're used to, but certainly nothing to fret about. I'm actually saving up for one my self!!

I just my falcon about 2 months ago and it's a blast... It draws easy and shots the same. I will admit there is some hand shock but that's only because I am comparing it with one of his recurve and there is none with that bow... My suggestion to you is to get it with a veneer finish. I got it done on mine and it looks great, I just wish I would have done the same for my recurve.
Scott was also great at answering all my questions

TradCat,  I've been to Scott's shop recently and shot his longbows and recurves.  He is great guy and very helpful. If you can I recommend going to B Town, it will make ordering and seeing option easier.  His longbow had a great grip, shelf, and weight. Just a little hand shock, wide limbs, great finish and seemed very accurate.  He is a recurve shooter but seems to build a lot of longbows.  He said one length seems to have less hand shock but forget what it was? He is a very helpful guy and I may be ordering a recurve soon

I really liked the 64" model I had.  It was 60@28 and always did what I asked of it.  I don't know that I've ever seen a used one for sale other than the one I had gotten years ago.

tried one of each of the Timberhawk models at Denton a couple years ago.....top notch.....people and bows.   Great grips on everything I shot....very smooth drawing and shooting bows.   I love my Zipper so much ....but even still,  Scotts bows would for sure make my short list!  Pull the trigger!
