Would like to hear your thoughts from anyone that has owned or shot one of these short little longbows. Thanks.
I have a 58" 50@28 Stik bow. Great shooter with very little hand shock and quiet even without silencers. Don is a great guy to do business with, I had the bow in 3 weeks, hits right where i'm looking.

How is the shelf cut on these bows? Before, past, or at center?
They are cut to center.
Just picked up a hardly used 62" 50lber, what a awesome bow. So far I like it just as much as my MOAB. I talked to Don yesterday to ask some questions and I really think my next purchase will be a 56" it has a 14" riser compared to the 16" that my bow has. I can't believe how quiet this thing is with the supplied Dacron string and no silencers. I'm in the process of ordering g a D10 string for it. You won't be disappointed in my opinion especially for the money. Cool guy too talked to me for about 20 mins yesterday. Super nice guy.
I ordered a 54" longbow about a week ago. Don e-mailed me today and said it's done and will ship on Monday. That means I'll have it by Thursday! I'll report back with pictures as soon as it comes!
I had a 60" about three years ago and it was a great bow. Light, no handshock, and crazy quiet!
I have a 52" stic which is no longer available. It draws very smooth with no stack or fingerpinch. They are not a speed bow, but have great cast. I made a D-10 string for mine and it is dead quiet. There is no hand shock at all either. Mine is cut 1/16 past center and is at center with a sideplate. An awesome bow for the money and very tree stand friendly. You won't be disappointed. The grip is a medium wrist.
I had a 60" Don Dow. It drew smooth, had no hand shock, and was one of the quietest bows I have shot. It also has a great grip. Now that I'm thinking about it I regret trading it! Also Mr. Dow is a very fine gentleman and more than happy to talk to you about his bows. Give him a call, you won't regret it.
Thanks for the input fellers, not lookin for a fast bow. Have only been hunting trad for two years and need a short bow for blind hunting. Still can't get use to canting the bow after so many years of wheel bowhunting.
I have a 54" 60# Don Dow, no complaints
I bought one for my wife. L/H 46@28 60".
Very accurate and dead quiet. Brilliant bow for the money.
