When I go to the Archery Shop Saturday to shoot I may well have 3 new bows there waiting to be shot. My Cook's Mountain Archery MultiCam recurve shipped Monday. It for sure will be there.

My prototype Turkey Creek 3-PC longbow shipped Tuesday and it, too, should be there.

And I received an email from Elmer Patton last night telling me he had completed the draw weight reduction on my new Crow Creek black Feather to 48#@28" and he put it in the mail yesterday. It should arrive on Friday.

Choices, choices, what's a man to do?
Bill
Bill,
Have you not learned to spread your bow arrivals out over time so this situation does not happen? :knothead:
It is obvious you will not be able to give each bow the individual attention and care it deserves.
I really feel sorry for you... :biglaugh:
Lon,
I ordered the MultiCam about 6 weeks ago. I saw the Turkey Creek Prototype about 4 weeks ago and couldn't resist it. Then Elmer Patton some pics of the Black Feather and I HAD to have it when I saw all of that Bocote! :biglaugh:
Here's a view of the Black Feather from the other side.

Bill
What a wonderful problem to have! I hope they all shoot great for you.
I'll help you out Bill. Just send anyone of them to me for attention and that way you only have two to deal with. :D
Ugh...What a horrible situation to be in!
I would say shoot the pretty one first, but that wouldn't help at all. :bigsmyl: Have fun!
Looks like Christmas at your house!!! I'd call in sick tommorrow and shoot all three.
Actually, I'm going to be shooting them on Saturday. The first one I'll open and look at is the Black Feather. Then I'll open, assemble, setup and shoot the MultiCam. And lastly I'll open, assemble, setup and shoot the Turkey Creek Prototype.
I've got to decide between now and the end of October which two I'll be taking to IL for a week of deer hunting. Or, I may decide to take all three in hopes of blooding each of them on a buck and a couple of does!
On the other hand, I don't know if I can carry the Black Feather into the woods. I would hate to lay it down and not be able to find it again!
Bill
Pleeeeeeeeze tell us you're not asking for sympathy? :D
Your saturday looks like a whole lot of fun to me.
Greg,
No, sympathy would not appropriately enter into this topic of discussion. I would, however, like to take this opportunity to congratulate three bowyers, Roy Coursey, Doug Witcher and Elmer Patton, on the outstanding bows they have built and I have had the privilege of purchasing.
Yes, Saturday will be a fun filled day!
Bill
You could invite a friend :D
Nice Bows. If you ever want to know how they shoot in MI ..... :D
Sure sounds like a tough situation to be. If only the rest of us had it so tough, LOL.
Shipping to a bow shop sounds like a safe way to ensure you see next years anniversary at least.
Best of luck- they all look like beautys!!
Each of your bows in its own right is beautiful. Besides all that time shooting just think how much time you need to put in reporting back here on how they performed
My Daddy always said if you ask a silly queistions you get a REAL answer. Mail the Crow Creek to ME. LOL Life is good and your a blessed man. Out Door Dan
Bud said that Sid called and your Harrier should be there Sat also!!. Bud says he thinks he may be closed on Saturday!!!!

Bob,
They didn't start working on my Harrier until this past Monday. It won't be completed until the middle of September, if they hit they correct weight.
I talked to Budro today and verified the MultiCam and Turkey Creek LB had arrived. The Crow Creek should arrive tomorrow. I told him I'd see him Saturday and he said "Yeah man!" ;) :D
Bill
Must be nice.
Bill we should all have such problems! You have a stable of beauties right there. Make sure you give us a report on how they all shoot. Hey and enjoy your day at the range.
Bill, pick one and shoot it and only it. It has taken me more bows than most to realize that. I am now a two bow guy and one is a back-up. Shawn
bill just shut ya eyes and grab one and shoot it. and best of luck if ya have any problems just send one to me. :clapper:
wolfman
Take a coin, and 2 of the bows.....1 bow is heads,1 bow is tails.
Flip the coin.....then put it back in your pocket and shoot the 3rd bow :archer:

Shawn,
I may end up with only two bows, but if the Turkey Creek is as good as they say, I'll be a 3 bow man!
Bill
How does one find more info on the Crow Creek bows?
YOU WILL BE A 3 BOW GUY BECAUSE THEY ARE AS GOOD AS THEY SAY!!!!!
GOOD LUCK

Dean,
I pretty much had already reached that conclusion. It is a sweet looking bow and everything I've read about Doug's one piece longbows is they are smooth, fast and sweet shooting bows. My comment about 2 bows or 3 bows was actually directed to Shawn's recommendation to narrow it down to two bows.
Bill
Boill
Well, it will be interesting to hear from you Bill on what your impressions are. What a privilege to be able to shoot such an array of fine bows. Enjoy the blessing and give thanks, brother.

snag,
I praise Him every day, all day long.
Bill
Heck of a problem. LOL
Got a similar problem. Hunting season opens tomorow and I have no Idea on what bow will see the first light of day.
Short, long, LB ,RC, fast , slow . They all shoot just fine, so it will ba a choice I make on the way out the door. problem is I want to hunt with them all.
Pete
Pete,
My decision only relates to shooting at the shop tomorrow. I'll be carrying two bows with me to the shop each Saturday between now and the end of October. By then I'll determine which one goes into the woods with me first in IL.

Sounds risky. What if it is not one of those 2 bows? :D

eagle24,
I'll be taking the MultiCam recurve plus one of the longbows to the shop each week. I'll probably take all 3 bows to IL with me. I don't see a risk and it will definitely be one of these 3 bows that I take into the woods with me the first time in IL.
My plan/hope is to take a buck and two does. I'll take the first deer with the first bow. Once it is blooded I'll switch to the second bow. After I take a deer with it and it is blooded, I'll switch to the third bow. If all goes well, I'll blood all three bows in IL in late October/early November.
Bill
I'm just razzin you Bill. I got the same thing going on. I'm taking my first trip to IL the first week of Nov. I'm planning to take 3 bows with me if I can decide which ones. More importantly, I can't decide which will be my #1 bow for this season.
I think I know what the answer will be for me. The MultiCam recurve will very likely be #1. The Turkey Creek longbow #2. And then I'm going to have to do some very hard thinking as to whether I'm going to carry the Crow Creek Black Feather longbow into the woods, or not. It may end up being my 3-D bow! It's too pretty to pull up into a treestand and drop back down to the ground, even if I'm dropping it at the end of a rope!!
Bill
I know what you mean about "too pretty". The Blacktail recurve I have not hunted with yet is in that category. But it is screaming to get out in the woods! I think after the first scratch I will get over it. But until then I will be babying it.
Well, I picked up the bows today and I must say I shot 3 outstanding bows. The pic I posted of the Cook's Mountain MultiCam recurve doesn't do it justice. The artisanship that went into building it is top shelf.
The bow is a phenomenal shooter, too. It is very smooth on the draw, is dead in the hand on the release, shoots very fast and shoots very accurately. For the money, this bow is a bargain!!
The Turkey Creek was everything I was told it would be, very smooth, very quiet and very fast. It is a great shooting bow.
The Crow Creek Black Feather was exactly what I was expecting. It is a drop dead gorgeous bow and is a great shooter to boot. I will not lack for a great bow to carry to the woods this fall!
Bill
Bill I am really worried!!! I think you need to send that recurve to me So I can try and straighten them limbs out for you.
Mike,
They straighten out beautifully at full draw! And then they sort of come unhinged, so to speak, upon release. But it sure is a smooth, quiet, very quick and accurate shooting bow.
Bill
Of all the problems a person could have, I would say you are doing alright. Grab one from the pile and start shootin'.
