11:15 tomorrow morning I will be having this rotator cuff tear repaired and cyst removed from my right shoulder. Had to hunt left handed this past year, couldn't draw any of my RH bows back.
Doc sez if I work hard at rehabing, should be back to work first week of May...maybe. Shooting the bow will require additional work on my part. Doc suggests I start pulling back 25-30# and work my way up....SLOWLY.
Tomorrow can't come soon enough...Keep The Faith...
Good luck Joe!
I wish ya a speedy recovery Joe. I hope it all goes well.
Joe,
Best of luck with the surgery. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Hope you are well enough in time for turkeys.
Don't be a stranger, I enjoy your posts.
Good luck. I had one done about 14 years ago and all went well. Don"t ignore the physical therapy. My daughter is an orthopedic surgeon and told me the operation isn't worth much without the therapy. Lou
In my prayers, Joe. Take care and do just what the Drs. tell you.
Johnny
Good luck to you sir! I hope (and pray) for your speedy recovery!
My wife is a therapist. The therapy will keep your shoulder from "freezing up" after the surgery. Oddly, you can lose more range of motion and strength AFTER the surgery if you don't do the therapy.
My stepdad wouldn't listen and now he is out of luck and can barely use his shoulder. He should have followed through with the physical therapy.
Good luck and God bless!

Good luck with the surgery and recovery! I would think you could still handle a laptop or desk top, unless hanging around here will make drawing a bow too soon a temptation you can't resist.
Good Luck, Joe
Hope the surgery goes well and you're back in action real soon.
Lee
You will be fine
All you need is lots of ice, PT, and patients. Oh, and don't forget to let your loved ones know that this will required a great deal of TLC.
You will be back to :archer2: soon.
Best of luck Joe! Listen to the doc and therapist!
May God help you to recover fast. Painfull rehad but just do it and remember Jesus suffered a lot more then you ill. That helps me endure pain when I think I cannot take anymore.
I wish you the best of luck, Heal fast!!

Wishing you good luck and a speedy recovery. God bless you and yours. :archer2:
good luck....
Hang in their Joe. I'll put in a prayer for your rapid and complete recovery.
You already know what a bummer it is to be on restrictive shooting. I had to forgo shooting hunting bows (over 20 pounds) for nearly 9 months back in 2009. Then one day in early August the shoulder was pain-free, without surgery.
Joe will keep you in our prayers. Best of luck.
I wish you much success with the surgery. Get well quick.
Just do like I do and type with one finger.
Good Luck and God speed!!
......Philip
Yeah, its not a pleasant procedure and does take awhile to heal. But the results will be worth it: you'll be able to sleep on that side again, reach across your chest and behind your back, all that stuff. Mine was about a year and a half ago. The doc was great at surgery, crappy at the rest. Like everyone says, DO THE THERAPY!!
Good luck my friend,
Prayers sent for a speedy recovery Joe
Good luck!
good Luck Joe!! I wish you a speedy recovery!!
GOOD LUCK JOE, TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
Good Luck Buddy! I have not any shoulder surgeries but I did dislocate my left shoulder a little over a year ago. It was hard to draw back a bow even though I am right handed. But I did switch to a lower draw weight and worked my way back up. Once again good luck!!!
Wishin' you all the best,Joe.It'll all work out in the end.
Joe,Hope you have a full recovery!
We all hope and pray that your surgery will go well and that the rehab will be speedy. Good luck! Keep us informed of your progress.

Take it easy Joe... If you find yourself going nuts- Go get a hair cut! God knows you must need one... :D
... mike ...
Joe,
Isn't surgery fun, just when under on the 2/19. Seriously, forget the light bow, get a box of Altus, latex Stretch Bands ($15.00). There are three in the box, with different resistence ratings. Then ask the Doc for a referral to a physical therapist who can set you up on a workout routine from light on up the scale until you are back shooting what you want. It will take 4-6 months is my guess. Then check with him twice a month or less to make sure everything is going according to the plan. Good Luck.
You'll be back with us in no time.......just take it easy for a while. You got a fairly long time until hunting season.
Eeeeeeeeeeasyyyyyy!!!!
