So, we finally got a good dump of snow in Kansas (could have come while the whitetails were in season, but oh well)..
No work today, at least not the kind that pays the bills. Got to clear the driveway the old fashioned way twice, but before, between and after clearings, I took time to make a new quiver for target and field shooting. Looked around online for one to buy and thought "hey, I've got a $5 bag of leather from the hobby store in the room". Got busy cutting, figuring out a pattern, punching holes and finally stitched up the new me! It's by a far reach handsome, but it's functional and it got me through the doldrum of talking to the dogs all day!
Now all I need is a traditional looking belt to designate to it. Back to the leather factory once the snow clears.

Looks good! I got the pleasure of shoveling myself. Wish I would have taken a break to do something like that instead. Nice job.
Great job, hope you guys enjoy the snow. Take care Greg
Looks good.
Very nice. I like it!
Thanks Gents! I think the toughest part of the deal was figuring out the pattern and then the angle of the belt loop. Looks like we're going to get some more weather shortly, so I may need to get after another project.
I'd sure like to fill it with a dozen new arrows! I've shot indoor target/3D with it three times now and like it alot. It should be a good 3D/feild, small game quiver as well.
Well I got my wish! Got a new dozen arrows to tote around in the new hip quiver today! I love fletching new arrows!

Looks like you are ready for some roving when the snow melts. Nice job.
I love the quiver. You wouldn't have measurements you could share do ya?
I cut the arrow pocket piece to 9 1/2" tall by 8 1/2" wide, then cut a taper from both sides to meet in the middle of the top at 8" tall. The belt loop is 4 1/4"X 6 1/2". I think it would have been better if I'd made it a little deeper, but everything stays put.
Thanks!
Thanks RW, Im gonna try it next weekend.
