Title: Stotler game buster questions
Post by: longbow565 on February 19, 2013, 09:53:00 PM
Hey guys I just acquired this stotler. I had one years ago and loved it. I have a few questions about it. When was it made and who made it. What woods and recommended brace height and how is the shelf cut and can it use a FF string?  I thought the game buster was made before the game getter buy not sure. Any help would be appreciated. It shoots good just more hand shock than I remember. Thats why I asked about brace height. Thanks Tracy

I think Jerry Dishion made it, he used alot of woods but it looks like naturally darkened osage riser and the limbs are maple or black locust lams with brown glass from my angle..

the shelf I believe is 1/8 from ctr.  I think I have original stotler brochures in my Brochure collection I can check and make a color copy of one if you want but PM me your address to remind me.

My stotler shoots best for me at 6 3/4 brace ht.  I shoot heavy arrows and want as much power stroke as I can get.

Tracy , the bow was glued up by Bob and Jim Stotler in Eastern Oregon using a Myrtle riser with maple laminations, then sent to Jerry for shaping and tiller finish ect.
Brace height will be best around 7 3/8" from dip of handle to string.
