Went and called all day on wedsday and did not see any sign of coyotes. Went out today to play with the ground squirrels. Was sneeking down a row of almonds missing squirrels and i
I see a coyote out there maybe 250 yards or so . Get down, get the decoy out of my vest put it up and back off about 15 yards. Get in close to a tree . He still out there snooping around . Give two rabbits scream on the call and he comes right in. Stops to look at the decoy . The arrow is on its way, way over its back. He runs off but stops at 50 yards lookiing at the decoy. He then comes right back in. Stops just a foot or so from the dancing rat and the arrow Hits the spot. He was skinny and real maingy . Must of been real hungry .

This years pup that did not learn to hunt very well. Suprised he made it this long.
Was in another orchard and was sneeking along and see two squirrels waving back and forth about 70 yards in front of me. Look harder and its coyote ears flicking.Get in the other row and start creeping in. Go maybe 25 yards peek over into the row he's in and he's gone. On my knees looking to see if he's out thewre any place. Get a call out and do a couple of rabbit moans . He pops upain front of me. Gets in the row to my right and just stands there. Two more moans and he's walking to me in the next row Get in position To get him when he gets even with me. I then see onther one walking in the row to my left. I here thec other one run past me behind me. The first one gets to the spot. It looking at me and then turns his head to the other side and the arrow goes in one side and out the other. He runs mabe 40 yards. One Of the largest ones ive taken 39-41 pounds with my cheap bow scale. Felt like two hundred pounds after the 400 yards back to the truck. Big male in his prime 4-6 years old . Some stain on his teeth but they was all there and still in good shape.
