I couldn't stand it anymore. That new Bear '59 is just too pretty. I didn't have access to one around here to check one out in person. I haven't heard anything bad about them- all good reviews that I could find.
I called Big Jims last week with a deposit and they were out of stock. Called me back this morning saying its on the way! I'll let you know if it lives up to the "hype". I'm not expecting it to outshoot some of the bows I have now, but sometimes you see something you just got to have lol.
Can't wait to see it! Congrats.
Eric
Give us your appraisal of the grip. It seems the majority of new owners are not happy with the leather grip...so what's wrong with it? :dunno:
Got mine 2 weeks ago. Still in the plastic. It is too beautiful. I can't bring myself to open it up. I want it to remain "untouched" a little while longer.

The wrap is not skived so it just kinda has a hard edge to it. It is about the only negative I "see".
I shot one at K-zoo. You will not be disappointed.
Will do Blackhawk. I hadn't heard any complaints about the grip, but if I don't like it I'll let you guys know!
Got mine about a moth ago if you want to read about it go to the collector section. Nice bow except the leather wrap.
I've been waiting 18 weeks and still counting.
That is one SWEET looking bow! It renewed my interest in them and I decided to make my own. But all the reviews I"ve read loved them except for a "loose" leather grip! Don't know but I LOVE the looks of that bow!
Blackstick where did ya order your's from I herd about long waits also. I order a 59 from 3 rivers after shooting one at kazoo. Talked to three r's the other day guy said end of month for back ordered bows with a couple for the display rack ?
Checked them out at Kazoo :D They not only shoot good but they shure are purty :archer2:
I fondled the "new" Kodiak's at K-Zoo and thought the leather grip was just fine. At least they were on the bows they had there.
I thought they were incredible looking bows and I will be getting one soon enough.
cowpie, I actually requested a bow at 47 or 48 pounds from a Bear dealer here in NE Indiana. I'm not unhappy on my wait so far, but I start to get a little antsy when I hear of others starting to show up. 3Rivers did have a 40#er on hand that I checked out, just way too light for me.
Shot one at the expo and they shoot great!
I know I have at least two in stock that don't have deposits on them. At least 25 more coming but don't know when exactly. I have already recieved about 15.
Yes, the wait is slow, but the demand is very high. They can't just add a bunch of people to make up the difference.
you won't be dissapointed if you get one.

It's here!! And it is a beauty! My main concern was the grip, since I have relatively small hands. I was afraid the usual Bear handle plus a leather wrap would be a bit too much for me. But it feels great! Handle (and limbs) are much narrower than I was imagining. Snow on now, of course, so I'll just have to fondle it for a few days.....
I'm not a photographer by any means so these pics don't do it justice at all. But I'm well pleased- leather grip feels great too!

Very nice!! Enjoy!
She sure is pretty. I love Bear bows. Have fun playin that sweet string music with it.
That IMHO is a beautiful bow. Love it that Bear brought it back and glad it's doing good for them. Congrats!
Easily looks like a P&Y Bear to me.
Congrats!
Sweet !
Love it,congrats.
I shot one at Kzoo and Bear did a great job in my opinion. I have been contemplating buying one myself.

Very nice
I've never tried a feather arrow rest -- sounds like a brilliant idea.
Great looking bow!

What kind of arrow rest is that? Amazing!
Nativestranger its a feather rest. 5-6 short feather sections stacked together. Very forgiving!
