Title: Archers anonymous aka AA anyone?
Post by: arrowbuster on February 13, 2013, 08:02:00 PM
I am considering starting this self help group. I wanted to see if y'all might express any interest in it. It would go something like this. Hello, my name is Bill, I either buy, trade or sale a bow every couple weeks. I really don't have a problem it's just one more little bow. I'm sure I can stop at any time, right??
Anyways do I have any one interested in attending?

If you're president....then guess I'll put in for the vice-president position...LOL

I have to say, this "sickness" that is trading/swapping bows has helped me zero in bows that are perfect for me.

There's nothing wrong with expanding one's horizons and trying out different equipment.  Afterall, if I hadn't initially, I'd still have wheels on the ends of my bow.

Lol the only thing that would happen is members would start swapping, buying, and selling to each other lol.

So when can I join.

Just tried out two Black Creeks in low poundage. Have 10 keepers and 16 bows to sell or trade. Learned to shoot Right handed in addition to Left to be able to shoot more bows. Next bow is...............? Class starts when?

Hi...my name is Brian and I had absolutely no issues at all until a good friend of mine Bill..AKA "arrow-buster" talked me into tryin traditional archery. After buying my first recurve in December I have been absolutely hooked. 3 recurves and a million arrows later I am starting  to wonder if Im experiencing some of the early signs of addiction.  Not to mention back quivers, broad heads, feathers, gloves, tabs, nocks, strings, wool, shooting indoor and outdoor leagues...talking about my problem does not seem to be helping!! LMAO.

Tradtional archery is a amazing thing. I have been bow hunting my entire life and the only regret I have is not giving the stick and string a try years ago.

The first step is admitting you have a problem...and that's not gonna happen.

A problem?!! What problem? I don't have no stickin problem! I can stop anytime I want to! I'm just not ready to quit yet. I enjoy it. Mind your own damn business. Wait... What were we talking about?  Lol. You only have to try it once, that's all it takes. They tried to warn me, but I wouldn't listen. That reminds me, I need to check the classifieds.

This isn't the 1st time this has been tried.

I think we've concluded that the cure is far worse than the addiction...lol

God bless,Mudd

Although I am not nearly as prone to trading bows as some folks on here (denial), I enjoy the quest for the "perfect" 2nd bow.

How often will this meeting take place as I've hit refresh on the classifieds about 30 times today?

There is only one medicine for my sickness...

That perfect moment of form,  right into that 1" dot that is burned into my brain.

We all need a fix.

Ralph,

You're recovered?  No wonder the USPS is going broke!

I'd heard that you sometimes didn't even keep a bow long enough to shoot it...maybe not unpack it...

That true?    :biglaugh:

I think I'm done. I am really going to make a consious effort to stay with the 4 I've got in my signature line. I have went through quite a few,and these are my favorites by a bunch. I can't think of any others I'd like to try...EXCEPT for a Leon Stewart Slammer, and a Striker Stinger 1 piece, and Gregg Coffeys new Falcon 1 piece longbow. Other than those,I'm cured. rat'
