It's quite cool, drizzly with a northeast wind blowing. Just feels raw to me but the animals are often out feeding in this kind of weather..
Actually I've been hearing some coyotes late in the evening and thought I'd slip back in the cane thickets to see if I could squeak one in.
I worked my way around this area so I'd have the wind in my favor, this took about a 30 minute walk. A likely looking spot loomed ahead and I "stalked" the spot I wanted to call from. Once there I got down, pulled my hood up and started a close range mouse squeak. No more than I started I heard some pigs grunting as they fed. I forgot about the calling and went pig looking!
They were a little farther than I thought, maybe 100 yards from the spot I'd called from. Once I cleared a whip cane thicket I could see them. There was a decent sized boar and a few small sows. Of course I started after the boar !! He kept feeding away from me and I just couldn't keep up. However, one of the little sows had found something that held her interest and stayed put until I got within 25 or 30 yards. She finally turned broadside and gave me the shot I was looking for. I came to full draw and concentrated low on her chest and let the string slip from my fingers. The arrow flew true and she made one squeal and took off. She made a quick circle through some cane and then came into view. She stopped and grunted and just fell over while I was watching!
Been shooting this 63# Hill quite a bit lately and it did it's part again. The Grizzly Kodiak is just a great no nonsense broadhead. I could live with this one forever and just may !

You are a pork-makin' machine Mr. Pat!
That Hill LB + Kodiak BH + your stalkin' ability makes for a po-tent pig combo....

A better camera ain't gonna improve YOUR looks none,
Actively pursuing your intended game is a hoot... not that I mind laying in ambush but the thrill of knowing where your quarry is and going after it just makes the blood pump faster.
Good job Pat!
Thanks for sharing.
