I hope I can post this question here and get some good answers or comments to anyone that has or had the web-ster stringer...
I got one as a Christmas present to myself and I read the directions and tried it on several of my bows starting with my RER Arroyo with static limbs and then my Hoots recurve which won't except the upper limb boot due to a moose horn overlay on the tips but not bulky ,then my Fox recurve and my Autumn Storm longbow which has very small limb tips..
I couldn't quite get any of the limb tips to seat quite right so I could string the bow's and scared to death it was going to pop off all of the bows mentioned...I feel the upper recurve pocket is way to small/tight to except the upper limb tips...Am I the only person that so far dislikes the Web-ster? I thought of putting it up in the classifieds to swap for a new selway stringer that I already have but could use a spare to keep in my haversack while hunting...Maybe it's just me but that upper pocket could use a 1/4" more pocket if you know what I mean... Thanks for any help!

Maybe it's just me, but the web-ster stringer is the only one that I like.  I've tried most of the other ones, and have yet found one that I like over the web-ster.  I use it both on recurves and longbows.

I bought one recently and also thought the top pocket is too small, but it works, though i do wish that pocket was a bit larger. I use my on my 50 style recurve, a mojostick, and it has antler overlays, there is not alot of tip in the pocket but it has never come off, i bet i have used it 40 times so far.

I have to side with you Keefer. I bought the Webster and scared myself stringing an RER static tip. I really think it's a personal thing and what we get used to. For me, I'm happy with the pocket and block type because that's what I got used to using.

I've been using Websters on a dozen different bows for the past 4-5 years.  Never had a problem.  The Websters I purchased came with two different size limb pockets on one end, the smaller to accommodate very small tips.

As long as you fill the pocket with limb tip, regardless of size, it won't slip off the limb.  With severely reflexed limbs you do need to grasp the bow firmly when stringing it so it doesn't twist in your hand and come out of the stringer.

If the pockets were deeper then I couldn't string my silvertip.. the pocket would cover the string grooves. The small pockets is what I like.

 I started to try it and as I got about 1/2 way stringing it my limbs wanted to twist on my Arroyo so I backed off quickly and never strung it...The Arroyo is nearly new and I didn't want to chance a twisted limb and you are Right on not to use it on those statics...I had both feet planted evenly...Thanks everyone for the imfomation and I have a buddy coming over tomorrow that will look at it and see what I may be doing wrong ...I think I will stick with my cup and block style ...Not worth having a bow fly across the yard trying to string it to me...  

I feel all other stringers are junk compared to the webster.However,there have been one or two bows that didn't seem to want to string right on it,but still love it.Really need to keep two different styles on hand.

When I was operating the Bow Hospital I strung and unstrung literally hundreds of different kinds of bows.  I love the Webster stringer on most and prefer it when I can, but there are definately some that it doesn't work well on.

Mine doesn't have two different pockets on one end though - that would sure make it even more flexible.  I'll have to take a look at a new one.

It doesn't do well with real narrow tips with pointed ends. I dedicated it to one bow like that by sewing along both sides of the top tip with heavy duty waxed thread, making a narrow pocket for the tip.

BTW, any cupped tip that's too big, on a Webster or any other stringer, such that it covers the limb groves, can be made smaller just by stuffing something in it, a piece of cloth, tissue paper, leather, etc.

This is the newer option with just around 5/16th to almost pushing 3/8th inside upper recurve cup and on the longbow upper cup just about 5/16th as well...I used a slide rule with the extention to slide in the cup to measure it cause it's a narrow 1/4" wide slide extention if that helps anyone?
Maybe I need to practice more with it but as far as my RER Arroyo,Fox High Siarra and Hoots recurve I Think I better just stick with the selway limbsaver style and just use the Web-ster on my older bows...I think it would work great on those Whips made by Dan Toelke cause the tips are smaller but does anyone have any bows I mentioned that I have and had success stringing theirs?
