Title: Footing questions?
Post by: Mr. fingers on February 10, 2013, 05:12:00 PM
Can I use a 2016 to foot a beeman mfx 400 . The how to section recommends a 2018 . Is there that much of a difference  or will it not work.
And do you mount the footing flush with the end of the shaft?
And one more I'm looking to increase my tip weight by around 25 gr. would this be an effective way of doing this or should I consider heavier points?
I'm hoping to kill two birds with one stone. More weight up front and increase durability .
Thanks for the help.
Tim.

Aluminum arrow numbers in the case the first two numbers, 20 mean 20/64" outside diameter.
The the 16 and 18 is the thickness of the wall in thousands .
.016. And .018.

So since the outside is staying the same the inside has to since the thickness changed. The 16 will be .002 looser, so .001 on each side of your carbon.

So it could work with a thick glue.

As for where I used to put them just,up to the glue in, insert.

I would use the proper size. Put an ad in the class. for a single shaft, cut in pcs. to ship easier.

How many footings and how long do you need them?  I'll check to see if I have any 2018 cutoffs or bent shafts laying around.
