Will this work at an angle or will I have to make a bracket to adjust the angle? The downward angle is worse below the grip.

You can test shoot it to see Charlie....... but if it were me, I would shim under the top to get it as straight ahead as possible bud.

Ditto!

Let me look around, I have string tracker adapter that attaches to an old style site bracket. Ill let you know if I find it & I'll send it to you.
I agree straighter the better.
I gave up trackers some years ago.
The absolute best use I saw was tracking deer in the dark in Wisconsin swampy area.
Everything looked the same in all directions. A local had one guy hand hold a string tracker from the vehicle till the deer was found.
Then wind up all the string and follow it to the truck.
you could pull the threaded bolt out and bend it in a vise, i did it for a fishing spool.
Charlie if you need a back up I found a tracker here and extra string. I have it in your old room.I can mail it or save it for when you come back home in May.
Great Suggestions, thank you.
I will have to play with it and see what I come up with. Since the Bow adapter can be mounted on the side, it will give me some options.
My only plan for it is for spring Turkeys. Was inspired by Curt's set up and the bird who took wing. It can save a lot of time with Follow up.
Dad, I will let you know when or if I need the extra, my track record with shots at turkeys leads me to believe I will have this spool for a looooooong time.
Heres what I did

I bent a piece of aluminum and attached it to my quiver. works great.

Those are some innovative mounting ideas Skipmast1 and Trap.
Thanks Trap....I think you just gave me my solution. I've got no leather stitching talent...but I'll bet I can make a velcro rig in that style. Time to "ugly up" a quiver hood.
There was a post on this a few days ago referencing a post from a few years ago, another way to skin this cat.

I couldn't find the tracker on 3Rivers. I tried some other sponsor links and no luck either. Are there any sponsors who sell these units?
I used one in 1985 on a DIY bear hunt in Ontario. I missed just low on the shot with the string-attached arrow. I followed up and killed the bear with a non-tracking arrow. Haven't used one since. However, I don't want to lose a turkey and I'm thinking about trying one again.

I seen some in Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear the other day, don't know if they have them on their website, but you can look and if they don't, give them a call, think they were about 15bucks and Tom has a flat rate shipping cost I believe.
Thanks. I'll check them out!
Here is my answer to the problem. I will move it to the lower part of the limb so the string doesnt hang in my sight window.
Thanks to all the ideas and helping me think outside the box.

Good work around with the zip tie. For those looking, you can get them direct from Saunders Archery.
one of my favorites was this prescription pill bottle with rubber bands made from innertube holding it on the bow.

I will try and explain what I do as I can't do pictures.
Take a piece of 1 inch wide by 3" long metal(thin but stiff) and drill a 5/l6th hole near one end and then bend it in a u-shape. Unscrew the thread rod in your game tracker. I think it's metric in size and buy the same size in a metric bolt and bolt it thru the hole leaving enough htread exposed to screw your game tracker onto. I put mole skin on the other end of the metal (that didn't have the bolt on so it doesn't scratch your bow) and then used tape to attach it BELOW the handle, not above. I think it will work better that way much like a bow fishing real.
If you followed me on what I made ,the metal piece is small and very light and works real good.
I would be willing to take a photo and send it to anyone that wants to see it. It is simple, small and cheap to make.

Trap- It never ceases to amaze me the creative solutions you come up with. Sweet rig.
Cool ideas, but you don't have to over engineer this either if you don't want to...
I just tape mine to the right side of the riser (I am right handed) on the bow for turkey season...works great.
TRap,
I think that quiver hood holder is ingenious! When the spool gets smaller as line peels out what keeps the whole thing from popping out?
Thanks
Here's a easier way;
bobbin inside arrow. Three arrows set-up and in quiver. Take arrow out and shoot it. Velcro strips on arrow and bow grab pulling line out of arrow. No drag on the arrow, works even with pass through. 1800 ft.

Wow, it's been a long time since I saw those!
