Been a member of tradgang closing in on a year now.About the same length of time I've had access to the internet other than dial up. Have traded and owned several bows during that time I guess I really liked most of them, prior to that only traditional bow I'd owned was a selfbow that I truly enjoyed hunting with. The only shoot I've ever been to was the Howard Hill southeastern at Tannehill last year, Brought more bows than I went with, but for my kids and only got to shoot one day the varmint shoot, loved it. Have read the Howard Hill Thread only Hill style I've had was a Tim Miegs longbow liked it but found it necessary to let it go (four kids). Then keep reading about this hog hunt just a few hours from home thinking wish I was able to go, but even if I had time from work would need a bow, thought next year I'd be ready. Anyway these were all the excuses I needed to order me a Toelke Super D that he had in inventory but hadn't listed yet, Dan seemed like such a nice fellow and after all I read about on here about him I basically let him pick which one was the best looker amoung what was available in my specs. 66" Toelke Super D 55 @ 28" and for the first time in I can't remember when it's feeling like Christmas for me!!! Bow ships Monday and I knew I needed to buy a inventory bow so I wouldn't have to wait too long but I really can't wait. Well just had to get it off my chest got to go to work in a few hours, did I say getting my first ever new bow!!!
Congratulations Darin! You're first ever new bow is sure to be a nice one! The anticipation is a big part of the fun though so don't wish it to pass too fast. Be sure to post some pictures when she arrives!
Congats! Thats going to be exciting!
Good for you I'm jealous. :archer2:
Looking forward to the pics, I have heard ALOT of great stuff about them. Congrats
I have never seen anything but quality from Toelke. You will be happy. Be sure to post some pics when it arrives! I think it is great you are going the new route. Not only do you get to talk in depth with the bowyer but you are supporting the fine craftsmen that make our sport possible. Good for you!
Rich
You will not regret it. Dans bows are some of the finest out there in my opinion, but you don't need me to say that just look at all of the posts.
Awesome! I have one of his Whips but you can't go wrong with any of his bows.
Darin,
That is great can't wait to see it, are you planning on being at the Spring Fling? Post up pic's when you get it, you know the rules :readit:
A friend of mine bought a 43# Super D from Dan and likes it a lot. Dan is a true craftsman!
Dan makes a great bow and is even better to work with! Good luck sleeping!
Nice! Dan is a great bowyer.
I'm looking forward to the hunt, hope to see a couple Super Ds first hand....
That is exciting. Enjoy!
Love my super d. Specs not far off of yours. You won't be disappointed.
Some times the bows Dan has in his inventory are more beautiful than the custom ones. I attribute this to his artistic eye being better than that of the customer.
Both of mine came second hand so I cannot speak about the bowyer, but from his work I can say the attention to detail is excellent. They fit me very well. I have been able to work into a heavier draw weight I feel because of the grip fitting my hand so well.
I am saving up for a 2pc in the future.
Dan makes a great bow and he is a good man. Enjoy your new bow.
love my super d!

Yes, S.C. Hunter, you sent The 57# my way. I am quite content to say the least.

Just got in from work me and boys been out shooting, oldest son Briar started shooting my Crooked Stic, trying to take it over about 34# at his draw and shooting it pretty good, other son Ledge taking over his Ben Pearson I bought at last years Howard Hill shoot and baby boy Creek shooting and old kids bow that I believe was made by Jim Taylor, so got em all covered!!!Can't forget my oldest daughter Jacey she shoots the 56" bear grizzly pretty well and lets them know it!!!
