I have a Sears Craftsman version of the same. it is 3/4 hp and although I CAN stall it out with too much pressure, it has worked fine for me and allowed me to do a heap of work. They go on sale now and again.
I have no experience with the Grizzly (unless they make the Crafstman for Sears).

check out your local craigslist there are High School woodshops selling off machines and cabinet shops going out of Bus, everywhere. You can get good deals on machines that are far better quality than chinese junk

I guess it depends what you want to do with it. I have a 2X72 Grizzley. Pm me with your location - we may not be that far away. You could take a look at it.

I have a grizzley, 2 sears and some other brand. The grizzley is good, if I was to buy a newe one it would be a grizzley . I dont think sears has one anymore. I have wore out the grizzley and repaired it a number of times but things only last so long and now it just sits aside but it has hundreds of hours on it....Tim

This thread was moved by mistake.....lots of topics on this subject for bow making and Bhead sharpening.
I use them to set bevels on not only my 3 blade WWs,...but also my Zwickeys.
Sorry for the inconvenience... :campfire:
