I'm still using a Spirit I bought in 89 and I used a new Windwalker I bought last year. I still prefer them.

I have four or five of them.  Love them until the ice and snow builds up on them. I always loved them because they were so quiet to move around on plus I think keep my feet warmer.  I have the chain on type.  Other than the squirrels eating my seats and carpet, they have been indestructible and zero maintenance.  Replaced a couple seats about three years ago.  That has been it for the 20 plus years I have used them.  Unfortunately now due to back and leg issues, I can't stand to set on them very long so I stand mostly and keep them for the kids to use in a couple years.

Still have and use 2 Lems and 2 Spirits. Have always preferred Loc-ons. Actually prefer the speed hitch rope over the chain, makes for extremely quiet set up.
Only fault I've found with them is the seats could be a bit higher, legs sometimes get numb during long sits.
And I tend to sit daylight till dark probably more than I should.

I still have 2 Lems that get limited use each fall.  I prefer other stands but probably won't ever sell the Lems.

I bought a Limit last year & it's the only stand I use now.  Matter of fact,  I sold all the rest.  I sure wish I could find an old Limit or Windwalker, the ones that were 5lbs or less.

I still have a LEM and one of the all metal ones too.  I still like em.  I have others I like more though.

Place a piece of cut carpet on the platform if you fear snowfall or freezing rain, then when you get there in the morning, just lift if up and drop it to the ground behind your tree.

Put it back when done for the day.

I've used 2 LEM chain type for 25 years. They now make padded seats with padded flip up back rests.....much more comfortable than the old cloth seats.

They're light and easy to hang, but the platforms seem to get smaller as the years go by.

I use my Windwalker almost everyday I hunt as it is so light and sturdy it is usually on my back for my evening hunts. I liked it so much I bought another Windwalker years ago to have as a backup but rarely use it as the original is still solid.

Absolutely, still one of the best in my opinion (if you can find them). MY LEM's are probably 30 years old. I think they were about $55 new, LOL!  The only mods I recommend would be if you can find one with the after market padded seat they came out with.  The factory folding seat was their only negative IMO.  It won't fold up as neatly with the addition and it was dang near as much $$ as the stand, but your butt will thank you.  Life is too short to sit in a crappy fold out seat! I also have a Black Lightning? It's small, light  and I've added shoulder straps.  It's the stand that I pack in for same day set-up/take down.

Still have 6 of the old chain on w/ cloth seats. Handy, light, quiet, solid.
I think I got them from Screaming Eagle when Paul Brunner still had it.

I love my Loc-Ons. I have a LEM, 4 spirits and a windwalker. Very light to get "out there" with. The only complaint, in really cold weather they can creak as opposed to a steel stand.

I use them in areas where there is a higher probability of theft.

I have a Spirit chain on.I like chain on stands.Chain ons are hard to find these days.Excellant stand.
I pad the bar the bottom of your thighs thighs rest against with cylider shaped foam similar to what you would use on a rollbar

I have 2 Limits, I think. Maybe Spirits. I had them for 25 Years and they are my favorite stand.
The older one is shorter in height than the other, and I just replaced the cloth seat with their Super seat. It is a great option. The 2nd one I still have has the cloth seat and I pad the front with pipe insulation around the bar.

I have 4 chain on stands Iv used for 15 years or more. I removed the chain on three of them and use ratchet straps only. I find I use less tree stands as the years go by. If I fall out of my ground blind, only my pride will get hurt.   :help:

I got an Eberlestock X2 for hauling stands and sticks on public land and started out with a Lone Wolf assault but found that the Spirit fit in that pack like a glove!!!! Been using Loc on for a long time...got my first one from Uncle Gene in the early 80's!!!!!!!

The Loc On Spirit and Limit are the only ones I have used for 20+ years. Love my limit for getting into an undisturbed place and up the tree quick and quiet. Then, if I don't score, down and out quiet. I don't like to disturb the area too much when I am hunting the big boys. I keep it handy even when I have fixed stands up. It's a killer when I notice fresh sign showing travel where I have no fixed stand in place. I sneak in with my Limit and that's when I usually score on the big one.

Still use my two Loc On Limit stands that I bought 20 something years ago. At 7 lbs apeice, they are nice to carry and rock solid in the tree. Pair them up with a set of those new light weight climbing sticks... pretty sweet combo. Also , the fact you can still buy replacement parts for their stands on their website is great. The two I have are closeing in a quater century old, they are my go to stands every season.

My dad and I used them for years! We both had LEMS. We used them with screw in steps then went to the 3 ladders. I then went to a climber. He used his till his last year when he was 77. Great stands.

I have two Lems that I have had for a while. Finally put a new seat on one to replace one the squirrels chewed on.

They are a good lightweight stand that is secure and easy to set up. However as the years go by, they seem to get smaller and smaller feeling to me and I am less comfortable in them.

They are really nice for walking in with and using a set of Bucksteps or similar to set up and hunt right now.
