Title: New Java Man small game bow
Post by: ronp on February 03, 2013, 03:24:00 PM
Here is my new small game/stump shootin bow from Gregg (Java Man), a sponsor here.  It a 56" Inferno.  Due to the weather, I've only shot a few arrows through it but it is very smooth and really sends an arrow down range.  It likes the same arrow as some of my other bows that are 10# heavier draw weight.  Another fantastic bow by Gregg!

Looks nice! Thinking of getting either this bow or an Elkheart. What is your draw length? I draw 29" and wonder if the 56" model would work.

My pics don't do this bow justice!  Much better in person.  I draw this bow about 28-1/4", but I can pull it back father with no problem.  Check with Java Man to see what he recommends.

I shot one that looked like it at the Kalamazoo expo.  Don't recall the length, but no longer than 58".  Was smooth and nice shooting at 29" draw.

What is the brace height of those bows if you don't mind me asking?  Nice looking bow you got there!

That is a great looking bow, and I know it shoots incredibly well. No one builds a better bow than Gregg. You are indeed fortunate to be the owner of such a fine weapon.

Thanks for the compliments.  It is a cool looking little bow.

Bowsnlabs - The brace height is 7-1/2" right now.  Gregg suggested I might want to try a little less, maybe 7-1/4.  I haven't shot it enough to change anything yet.

Thanks for the nice compliments folks.

The Inferno is a shorter version of my Tanjavur LB.  Inforno available in 52" to 58".  Tanjavur 58"-62".

The Tanjavur started as an all wood bow around 1996-97.  Made the 1st glass Tanjavur in 2003.  Then started the Inferno this past Summer.

Sweet, Ron!  But why only stumps and bunnies?  Looks like a good whitetail bow as well.      :archer:

And Great work, Gregg!

Beautiful bow!  I'm still kicking myself for not spending some time with Gregg at his Kzoo booth, but everytime I tried he had three guys already bending his ear and perusing his bows.

I might have to head down to his shop sometime soon (we're about an hour apart) and see if he's got time to show me what I need to buy!!!

The guy's got some SERIOUS talent.

Everything of Gregg's that I shot at k-zoo was top notch! You wouldn't believe how well his bows shoot until you try them. If I wasn't already on the list for a big foot, I would be on his if I didn't bring something home from the show. Very impressive work Gregg.

This bow has a 36# draw weight at 28".  I wanted a lighter bow to let some friends who have never shot a bow try it out.  Plus it will be good for stumping and small game.  It is legal for deer in New York, and it shoots a 3555 arrow pretty darn fast, so maybe it will see the woods during deer season.

Great looking bow Ron, and another fine bow from Javaman and Gregg. I've owned one of Greggs bows and wish I had it back. He doesn't even make that model anymore. Was the Grizzly.

Hey LeeNY
Greg told me at Kzoo he only made two of the Grizz bows.
He said he hated making them, the brush nocks  were a lot of work.
I bought one on this site last summer, love the Grizz.

Thanks!  Gregg does some really fine work.  I hope to shoot it a little this week-end, but it looks like we are getting dumped on with snow again.
