I keep hearing that guys build up rests on a flat (non radiused) shelf on metal ILF bows like the Excel. How exactly do you do this? I've heard talk about toothpicks, match sticks, and other material but I cannot find a good description, good video, or pictures to explain this to me. Can anyone help?
Thank you!
Brandon
RangerB has a video on it. Basically he carves a small half moom piece of wood to bring the arrow up to the plunger hole and glues it to the riser and covers it with velcro.
I used a piece of Micarta to do the same. I just shaped it with a file/belt sander to the shape I wanted and glued it to the riser. It works perfect!
Thick furniture pads with adhesive backing work good too.
Thanks guys. I'll look for the RangerB video. Anyone have pictures and/or detailed instructions? Sorry I'm a newb...I'm not clear exactly how to do it still. Does it matter how far up and out you build it up?

I will try to post a pic of mine later this evening.
A.S. I'd love to see any pics you have.
Bisch: what's that oops about?

Nothing! I started to reply with some info that was not correct so I got rid of it.
