Hey,
I'm new to the list and this is my first post. I've been shooting traditional equipment off and on since 1974. I've been shooting a Loftin Longbow since the late 80's, used it to take several deer, and started hunting this season with an Osage self bow 60#@26", cane arrows w/ southeastern 2 fletch, and stone points. Hope to put a few pigs in the freezer, maybe some venison as well if I'm lucky. I started doing primative skills a few years ago, and that interest has led me to make my own equipment and hunt with it. Glad to be able to find a site like this one.

Al,
What part of God's country are you from? I was born and raised in Coffeeville, MS. I'm a MSU Dawg, not a Georgia Dawg.
Ducks I know you from the Woody's list. I go by Choctawlb on there. I'm located in Montezuma, GA. about 40 miles south of you. I appreciate the warm welcome ya'll are rolling out.

Welcome yalobusha. I'm a transplanted "Rome" boy myself. Dad went to West Georgia, and the whole family worked at Pepperill.

Yalobusha.....welcome...you need to hook up with the Traditional Bowhunters of Ga...look for a guy named RC on here or Schuster..they are the finest traditional spot and stalk hog "harvesters" in the world. South ga is full of traditional bowhunters, good ones too..I hunted with some of them down there for 10 years.
I'm from Indianola...I know the Loftons and Mark Dauler too! and Kong Foo Jerry Kattwar.

Macon,Ga here, Welcome any oyhers around you shooting traditional.

Joebuck,
I lived in Greenville,MS from 1985 till 1991, and was one of the original members of the Mississippi Traditional Archers. My wife made the t-shirts for the first ever "Lofton Classic", of course back then we only need about 20. I have worked in the shop with Mr. Bobby and Mark as well shooting a whole lot of 3D with Jerry Katawar. We used to either have, or go to a shoot about every weekend back in the day.
I talked to Mr. Bobby Lofton on the phone a few months ago, I was hoping he was still making a few bows, but he is now retired. I was looking for a 40# longbow for my youngest son.
I was a member of TBG in the early 90's,right after we moved here and before work got in the way of having fun and have just rejoined this past year. I have chased hogs with Randy Keene, and Chris Ward here lately. There are some really good folks in the TBG for sure.

Yalobusha- Nice to hear from you. I am in Albany, about 45 min so. of you. I have offered to the others here, and am extending it to you also to come and join me on my place to shoot my 3d range. I have a 60 target range set up on my property. At this time it is free to all.
good luck, BigJim

BigJim,
I appreciate the invite for sure. I get down to Albany quite a bit, as I have several good friends down there. Ben Kirkland , the operations Manager at Chehaw Park, is a real good friend of mine, as well as my primative skills mentor. I also do some of the knapping demo's at Chehaw Park the 3rd weekend in November, and the second weekend in January. Came down there last spring and chased some pigs on Chickasawhatchie. Glad to hear from ya.

yalobusha, Welcome and glad to hear you back in the TBG fold. Look forward to seeing you at our hunts and shoots. Did you by chance make it to the annual banquet? If not, you missed a treat talking to Thad Beckum. He actually killed a GA P&Y deer with all primitive gear and has a video out. Fun. Don't forget to stop by the TBG thread here on trad gang to stay up on the Georgia activities. Steve

Welcome..hey Steve I got Thads video ...sweet..it is what got me into primitive...Full Circle...he is awesome....because of him I blew away his state record primitive kill last year..just haven't informed him yet..LOL..I got a 143 6/8 8 point...osage selfbow, rivercane shafts, flint knapped heads..all made by me thanks to his video... www.gutstuff.com (http://www.gutstuff.com) ...you can view pics of him...gut

Ken, if you are chasing hogs with those Albany boys, you are already in good company. Ask Chris about the Paradise if you looking for a place to hunt with other arrow flingers.
