I thought about putting this up last sunday but, decided to give it a week and see if I still felt the same way. I do.
Last saturday the mail lady showed up with a box from Jeff Berberick from texas. (aka Bowhunter4life). the yard chores , I was involved in, were put on the back burner and I took the box out to my shop and tore into it. A sigh of relief as we all get when we open a one pc bow and it is indeed still in one pc. lol.
Bow is a Centaur triple carbon. 60" long. 53@28 ( i draw 28.75) made in 2012 and a new sbd skinny string.
I stung it up and noticed how light the bow felt in my hand. I had some arrows that I'd been shooting out of my "Navajo Apache" all so 53 @28 and so I figured they'd be close.
In my garage I have a 12 yard shot into a 5x5 foot block target. My first three shoots were 3" right but really tight.
I replaced the soft side plate with a pc of hard leather and shot the next group right in the spot i was looking at. I went out side and shot a few more at longer ranges. Same held true. the bow was spot on and all ranges out to 35+ and super fast.
In all fairness, the arrows were only a shade over 8 gns per lb but I have no qualms shooting deer around here with them. Side note: Blacky Swhartz tested the centaur elite (not triple carbon) and with 9 gns per lb was getting 190 , I think, with fingers. I'm sure it was over 200 with the arrows I had at 8gn per lb.
After a week of shooting a few arrows everyday on my 3d range I have come to like this bow even more. One thing I had noticed about carbon limb bows I had shot in the past was that they seemed stiffer to pull. Even two bows side by side , same wt, the carbon seemed harder to draw. Not so with this bow. It is a pleasure to draw and shoot. In all fairness, the only other carbon bows I've shot have been recurves , with the exception of Joebuck's Nano longbow. Bill Dunn told me that he didn't notice it as much in his longbows as his recurves.
I put yarn puff balls on the string and a Kanati Pro Quiver I had laying around on it and took it to the range. Ive shot a bunch of arrows through this bow in the past week. The last few days Ive gone up in arrow wt. 560 gns total with 23 percent of foc. I don't really chase foc , but I do like heavier broadheads, so I usually end up with a good percentage of foc. I may try and run over to a buddies house today and shoot it through his conograph but I'm satisfied this setup will have penetration power to spare.
I'm toying with the idea of getting on the Centaur list for a new one just like this in a takedown configuration.
If you were thinking about a Centaur but not quite sure, I don't think you will be disappointed. I plan to field test this rig in two weeks at Marty's camp in Fla.
These pics are the ones that Jeff had up on the classifieds.

Love mine as well. Congrats
Love my Centaurs. They are my go to bows. Wait, they are my only bows.
yep
there is only one problem with Jim's bows, the wait time.
Yep fantastic shooters. I would love to have one made with Micarta in the riser for some mass weight. When I shot mine I would get a flyer about every round, due to how light it was.
Great looking bow.
Nice Don! I'm always keeping my open for a lefty in the classifieds!
Very happy you two are still getting alone so well!
Enjoy Don!
Note{ The take-down is available only in 'Dark Matter'.
The 5 -6 oz additional physical wt has been found quite alluring by many.
Point well taken Friend.
I got out today and made a short (5+min) video. Just a nice day to be outside here after last week.

Genuinely enjoyed in sharing in your outing.
I suppose that if Dr. Ashby is able to test his arrow set-ups on dead Asiatic Buff's, then testing out a special Centaur on dead 3D targets should suffice.
Nice shooting!!
Good shooting  Centaurs are great shooting bows !!!
Bill
Don, nice shooting with a really nice bow. Hope to meet you someday at one of the NC shoots.
thanks for sharing, between some flu, bronchitis and single digit weather I have not shot in two weeks. It was nice to see an arrow fly.
Cool video bud! And thanx for your pity...me and the kids were out yesterday stumping, it had warmed up to about 15 degrees!
I've only shot one Centaur in my life, and that was right handed....but I was very impressed with it and would luv to own one!
Good luck at Marty's....remember, all he can do is put you on them! :campfire: with ya....good luck!!
Cool vid Don. Good luck in Fla.
Centaurs are gorgeous bows! I would also love to own one as well.

Really enjoyed the video, Don. Beautiful looking bow, and loved the solid sound of the "thunks". Got me all fired up - sure be glad when it warms up to my kind of shooting weather around here - LOL. Ya done real good, all around, buddy - but you knew that didn't you?
Enjoyed the post Don. That is a good looking bow....Hope to see you at some 3d shoots this year...
Thanks Wally, I may try and shoot the SC state championship. I try and see ya at Sissipaw. You will like this Centaur. It's a fine shooting longbow.
Bernie, today was the day if you like it nice and warm.
Finally got back to NC after sitting in Detroit airport for a day and a half. Felt like that movie "Terminal" Bow looks great. Looks and sounds like a nice shooting rig. Whats really good though is your camera work. Looks great and great coverage of the Centaur and Kanati Pro Quiver. You camera work has come along ways since we hunted with Rick Welch. Makes me want to get out and shoot!!!!Keep up the good work!
Nice post Don, That is the bow that I hunted with all this season. Shot my biggest buck to date with it. My new bow is a 60" 55lb triple carbon Dark Matter. Hope it serves you as well as it did me. Take care and keep the videos coming. Greg
Thanks for sharin' Batman!
Great video and good shootin'!
Keep the wind in your face!
Shoot straight, Shinken
