Title: 2012 Ragim Impala Deluxe help
Post by: ZacharyFet on January 24, 2013, 07:57:00 PM
I recently purchased a Ragim Impala Deluxe from bowhuntingoutlet.com. I was happy with it until it started to break on me.... After a month of shooting it about every other day, at full draw, the bottom limb broke.... I also noticed that the riser had started to split as well.

Has this ever happened to you or someone you know? I'm new to trad bow so any information would be helpful. I'm at the point where I want to spend a lot for a quality bow, and would like to know what my options are.

Thanks for your help!

My son in law had an import that seperated on him after 14 months of moderate use. This does happen but much less with quality bows. Our sponsors here offer exceptional products. The classifieds carry an array of quality bows, some older vintage bows and others that can offer a lifetime of enjoyment. Some older Bears in the $150 range are seriously durable as are second hand long bows and recurves built by many talented bowyers for $300 and up.

Thank you.

What are some key things to look for in a quality bow?

If you are looking for something new find a bowyer that has a "following" in other words, lots of people like their bows. And there is a difference between a quality bow and a exceptional quality bow and it differs from person to person. Confused yet? Ha! In all seriousness if you want a bow that prolly won't delaminate on you and you are not wanting to spend a fortune on a new bow hit the classifieds and look for vintage bears, wings, shakespeares etc. All well made bows that are solid performers.
