I picked this fine old piece off the big auction site a bit ago, and i think ive finally been able to put a maker with it. After some research i believe it to be made by Amelita Archery, 59" nock to nock unstrung, 55lbs of not so pretty, but an absolute pleasure to shoot longbow from the 50's. It may be old and not so pretty, but looks can sure be deceiving when it comes to performance! so take care and dont pass up on the ugly ones, that lump of coal may be a diamond in the rough! Great catch!
nice
Nice.
I think it looks great moleman, How many lams. and what is she made out of?
Knawbone, its kind of an odd duck, having only 2 lams, in which neither one is tapered, it has woven glass on the back and smooth Brown glass on the belly. Just guessing i would say the lams are maple, and being parallel the whole limb works clear to the fade outs.
