Do you guys prefer to wear your Binos short or long on your chest for string clearance out of a tree? Thanks. Bill
I usually hang them close by so it's not a issue.
Why take a chance of them getting hung up in Your string?

I know they are a good idea, but I never use them. I figure if its close enough to shoot, I can already see it.
God Bless,
Nathan
I use a Nimrod bino harness. The binos are about chest level and there are no string clearance issues.
Bino harness keeps them tight against my chest. And next to my bow- the most important tool I take hunting. Never without them turkey, deer, or whatever for past 20 years.
I keep my compact binos on a short tether around my neck. Been doing it that way for about 40 years. Never had a problem with string clearance. Wouldn't be without them.
Tried systems and gadgets over the years but keep returning to strapping them over shoulder allowing them to hang down opposite side hip pocket at all times. Takes about a 6' long ribbon/strap. They're out of the way at all times (except while glassing) and easy accessible, like grabbing your wallet, much the same way pioneers and old school trappers carried their possibles.
Hang them on a hook or tree branch.
Bino harness keeps them within easy reach and out of the way for me.
I have been using the Bino Harness for several years, never had a problem.
I keep my 8x30's on a short strap around my neck and inside my jacket. They hang to mid chest and do not interfere with shooting at all. I just unzip my jacket enough to pull them out when needed.
I have 'em on a neck strap just long enough to get past my nose to my eyes. Behind my back & under my arms I run a length of 1/8" elastic with a plastic hook on each end and the hooks clip on the binoculars where the strap attaches. Keeps them snug against my chest and also steadier when I do lift them to look through.
I carry relatively small 8 x 26 waterproof binocs.
I used to use just a 8x20 monocular and kept it around my neck but under my coat.
I've been using a harness for several years, and haven't had any problems with it. It keeps them handy so you don't have to move much to use them.
warm weather I think I do mine the same as Zbone,, but if they are not in my pocket I use as long a strap as possible and over my neck and one arm thru it so the binos hang under my arm next to my ribs and they never get in the way.. cold weather its around my neck and dangling in front but inside my jacket so I unzip my coat to use the binos, my eyes don't fog them in very low temps because the binos are warm or thats what I'm thinking anyway.
Usually when I am in my stand is when I realize they are on the hood of my truck...
Been wantin a harness... ;-)
Good previous post.

A bino harness works great. Usually don't wear them until the leaves are down.
I use a monocular and keep it in my pocket!
Bino harness here!
Bino harness for me as well.

X2
Never took them until I tried a harness system, I don't go in the woods without them now!
Usually inside a hill people gear kit bag on my chest...
Bino harness for me too, keeps them handy and tight against my torso so there is no sting interference.
