So I drove 30 minutes to an archery shop and bought some Cat Whiskers to quiet my bow string. Carbon Express brand no less. Drove 30 minutes home.
I tie mine on in the middle with string material. But these are so thin and whimpy that you can't wrap 'em around the string without them coming apart. Threw 'em away.
Wondering if anyone knows where to buy MANLY cat whiskers?
Thanks, Paul
I've bought them from 3rivers for years, but I'm looking for thicker material than 3rivers sells.
Spinner bait skirts from a sporting good store. Thread 'em in and snip off the collar with scissors. Come in every color you can think of and combinations.

But I prefer wool.
Fly Tying Material: Rainy's Round Rubber Legs in large diameter are the best and only catwhiskers I've ever used.
You guys beat me to it. Those are great options.
I just don't see any colors I like.... :)
No pink....??
Lots of options at the fishing shop here. I get all my whiskers there. They have a lot of colors and a few thicknesses. I think I get 24" lengths. Out has been a while since I stocked up. A lot cheaper than getting them in the archery section in the same store.
Google Janns Netcraft and search for Round Rubber Skirt Material. This is what I use. One ounce will last a long time. I usually cut two pieces of different colors and sandwich them together. One about 2 inches long and One about 1 3/4 long to make a multicolored silencer.
