Post by: Rick Wiltshire on January 22, 2013, 05:53:00 PM
I just got a new to me Sparrowhawk.  What are you guys using for a brace height?

Mines around 7 1/8 or 7 1/4. Shoots great!

Thanks guys.  I had mine about 7 1/4 and I am getting more of a thump than I remember my other Mohawks having.  I am using arrows with about 10 gr/lb.  Guess, as the temperature allows, I will need to play with it more.

Shooting mine at 7 inch, (or 6 7/8 when I get around to checking the height again...) Too much vibration/noise at 7 1/4 for me, but my old Mohawk liked 7 1/4.  Enjoy!

checking my records for what worked best for me ...

62" = 6-3/8"+
64" = 6-1/2"
66" = 6-5/8"+
68" = 6-3/4"

i've found that mild r/d longbows that brace to a "D" limb shape tend to prefer lower brace heights.
