Lately, with the wave of new people coming to Trad Gang, AND, folks that have been around a while might need to revisit the rules for off topic. I feel there needs to be a review of what Trad Gang is about.........
Off topic threads can be one of a kind, or fit into a category. Here's a list of categories that are off topic for Trad Gang that have been problematic for a few months now......
No daily news or weather reports. This is NOT a news forum. Its a Bowhunting Forum.
E-B-A-Y/Auction sites/NO Sales alerts from non Trad Companies or non Sponsor companies.
No target/Olympic/flight shooting/field archery topics cept 3-D
NO Solicitations/Raffles/Auctions/NO ADVERTISING of non Sponsor Businesses or links to NON Sponsor Businesses.
No Religious posts.
No Political posts.
No Daily Weather reports.
No non bowhunting related pics.
No links to other message boards.(this includes my space, facebook, and blogs)
No 'hunting contests' PERIOD.
No canned hunt topics period.
No Personal Contact threads.(use search feature and email)
No Scam alerts.
No Throwing Hawks, Throwing knives, non hunting knives, atlatls/spears, etc.
No Bloggs/Myspace/Facebook/ and YouTube non-bowhunting/YouTube personal Channels are all off topic. (direct links to a YouTube video are fine as long as they are trad bowhunting related)
No non Bowhunting TV/Movie threads.
No non Trad Bowhunting equipment (compounds, crossbows, mech heads, lazer sites, guns, etc...or even pics)
No fishing threads.
No pics of road kills, or any other weapon kills, or any type of kills that are not done so with trad bows.
No animals killing animals clips, or any other non hunting clips.
We do ONE charity a year and that's St Jude Children's Hospital. And we allow Compton and PBS to announce their raffles. This is all we do, so please do not post any type of charity/fund raiser of any kind.
Again, those categories above are off topic, and will always be off topic unless we approve a specific thread for a needy reason. Please help us help you by keeping the site on topic...Trad Bowhunting.
Trad Gang is a special place, and to keep it a special place it takes work from everyone, including the members. Try and understand that when your post is pulled, it is NOT personal, we are only trying to be consistent and fair as we can for the site's sake. No need to get bent out of shape, no need to go bizerk or explode.
Think you are alone?....Think we play favorites?..here's a few folks that have had their posts edited or pulled....
Ron LaClair, Dean Torges, Gene Wensel, Barry Wensel, Biggie Hoffman, Charlie Lamb, and Don Thomas, Rob DiStefano, Ray Hammond just to name a few....So, if you've had a post removed or edited, your in good company.
I've pulled my own post as well as had mods pull mine....so don't take it personal. We are just striving to keep the site on course and as established on day one.
Thanks for your consideration.
(Sorry Darline....Just trying to curb off topics)

thanks for the reminder... but where are the pictures. I lived in Hawaii, I know what a bikini looks like...
I'm not trying to raise a fuss, but I can't figure out why traditional Olympic Archery is banned from discussion. Maybe it shouldn't be discussed on a traditional archery hunting forum, but it would seem that it should be welcomed on some other forum here on tradgang. And maybe there is one here, but I missed it.
While the Olympic Games are not "bowhunting" per se, there are many tips and tricks that many can learn from, by the discussion, while the Games are on TV. There is a "Form Forum" here, for example, which has as much to do with hunting as the Olympic Games tips do. There's also a Collecting/History forum and a Prayer forum. Perhaps an Olympic Games Archery forum may have a place here-just thinking out loud.
Here's the news from the last Olympic games...
"Ratings for Olympic coverage of the sport have surged on cable, say NBC Sports chief Mark Lazarus and NBC Research President Alan Wurtzel. And the executives have a suspicion why.
"Archery is the new curling," Wurtzel said. "The numbers for archery have been nothing less than huge. Maybe it's The Hunger Games phenomenon. We're going to keep an eye on that."
The executives told reporters on a conference call Thursday morning that archery coverage on MSNBC and NBC Sports Network have rated higher than any other Summer Games sport on cable so far this year, averaging 1.5 million viewers and beating out basketball as the top Olympic sport among the network's non-broadcast network coverage."
Again, not trying to start a fight, but why exactly can't the biggest traditional archery fans talk about the biggest traditional archery event in the world on the biggest traditional archery web forum?
From being in the business for years, it would seem expanding the base would be a goal, as opposed to limiting the base.
Thanks in advance.
I know it isn't needed but I'm going to step out for "Home Plate" any way.
This site is solely the property of Terry Green. Terry has a view of what being "Tradgang.com should be and has held strongly to his "dream".
Folks, it works!... and it continues to work!
Why?.. It's all because of the adherence to the rules... rules set by the one who has the right and authority to do so.
When you have your own web page you can set the rules.
I hang out here simply because it's "The best" not that I am 100% in agreement with every detail of the rules... but they are what they are.
I can choose whether to be here and follow them or I can choose to go elsewhere.
My "not so important" opinion.
God bless,Mudd
thats one way to be sure everyone reads it !!!!! thanks for the reminder and keeping this a special place...
I think the deal is Terry's web site: Terry's rules
Personally I'm ok with that.
Ok, like any guy I fell for it

Thank God!!! No Bernie pics.
