Title says it all. Gonna order the little misses a new bow around tax time and need some wood combo ideas with purple being the main color scheme.
Thanks!
Kris,
This is a bow I made for my daughter. The riser is maple and purple heart and the limbs are stained curly maple.
Purple heart is sometimes not to exciting, but when paired up right it looks ok I think.
Good luck with the bow and with shooting with the family.

I used to have an Elburg Mite that had osage limbs with purple heart in the riser and tip overlays.Colors looked good together and it did kind of have a "girly" look to it :D
Purple Heart, katalox and East Indian rosewood are the big purple woods. Here is PH and Bolivian rosewood, I am not a big fan of the white glass , black or clear w/ veneers would of looked better. I do like the brown and purple contrast.

Also, kingwood typically has good purples and sometimes you can get purple cocobolo.
Yellow, orange and brown are perfect complementary colors to purple,. I am surprised that more people do not order it. This one is kinda wild, but when used judiciously as in the bows that were previously shown then I believe it makes a very pleasing combination.
God bless , Steve

I built one last year from purple heart for a young lady just getting into archery. It was a birthday present from her uncle....
I used black walnut for overlay on hers....

The black walnut has a lot of purple overtones to it too.

Dang it! Let me try again.
Wow! Them browns and darker woods go great with that purple heart. Really diggin the yellow too.
I'm thinking a really nice piece of walnut with a purple heart flare in the handle with some real nice walnut veneers and purple heart accents.
We'll have to wait and see what the boss says LOL
