I saved this pic from Google Earth. It is a small sample within the boundries of McAlester A.A.P. in Oklahoma, home of the famous traditional only hunt. Save the pic and open with paint and pic your spot based on the what you see.Members that may have hunted this ground before obviously have the advantage of having walked the terrain. I feel that aerial photos are a valuable scouting tool. They eliminate wasted boot time and help you focus on potentially productive areas first. What do you think? i couldn't get the picture to copy and paste, but i like the small field in the lower middle of the map right above the writing. i'd pick a funnel leading to the field and set up about 50 yards from the field. that way i can catch bucks heading to the field and traveling the inside edge
I would like to, but to I am to danged computer challanged to do it....
I am kinda surprised that the Military lets any aerial photography of their military bases to be available to the public. But...what the heck let's look at it.

Even area 51 is visible on google earth. It has afeature that allows you to measure distance down to the inch! What a tool for insurgent mortarmen.
At work taking a break so I can't download. Look at the top left quad, just east of the red line. there is what looks like a pond (light mark) from here it looks like it is in the vicinity of a place where several wooded ridges or ditches come together, connecting some far reaching areas. I would put some foot time in that area and see what it offers.

i can't ever get google maps to work for me, but if somebody can pin point the camp ground area..i'll show you a sweet spot in deer creek for a bug buck! I'm actually still trying to track down a map of Boggy for myself. Too busy and computer illiterate i guess.

Here's my three picks. I'd like to see the topo's of it to confirm my first one. The dot fartherst north here looks like it might be a ridge covered in larger timber. Bucks love ridges and the narrow band of timber looks like a good spot. Looks like it's a long way from roads also.
Second dot (going south) is in just south of the fields -- again, in what looks like higher brush that should work as a funnel. I'm seeing deer using the field and bedding west and east of this spot. Bucks would cross between the two bedding areas looking for does.
And finally, the third dot is in a spot that I would expect a creek crossing. It's in the curve and I'm guessing that deer on the south side of that creek (I hope it's not a road) would follow the creek until it turns then cross somewhere in that curve.
I've never been to any of this, so I'm working blind here.
