Now that I'm mostly using my HHA back quiver, or on occasion, my Arrow Master, my bows are very light in hand.
That got me to thinking about when I hunted with my Groves Spitfire Mag II, with a Browning 9-arrow Twist-loc quiver filled with 2219's, six with broadheads, and three with judos, and how many times I carried it up and down the mountains around Juneau and on Prince of Wales Island. With that in mind, I decided to mount the quiver back on the bow, and load it up with some 2219's I still had laying around:

Then for the heck of it, I weighed the fully loaded Groves, and my N.M. Classic. The Groves came in at 4.5 lbs, and the Classic is 1.25 lbs, or a little less. What a difference! Can't believe I was packing so much weight around!
What surprises me more, is that all those arrows really made the bow lopsided, but I could still shoot it very well. I was shooting 5-inch vanes off an elevated rest with a plunger.
My how times have changed for me!
I carry four, all broadheads most of the time. Most of mine are various Kanatis but do have a couple of EFAs and use them some too.
If that quiver full of arrows is not enough I have a bow quiver that holds a doz. or more. It was called an " island quiver" and used to hunt the islands off the CA. coast. It is my friends and he used a compound. My 8arrow quiver full on my wood handle Jennnings compound weighted more than my 7mm mag. with scope. humped that sucker all over Az. when we lived there in the 70's. Also a lot younger in those days.
That there is the quiver of an Optimist.
I bought a 3 arrow quicky quiver this year. It worked well but if I had it to do over I would get the 4 arrow version.
I love carrying lots of arrows.Six arrows is my ideal number.
If I can't kill it in 4, it deserves to live.
I carry four; one is a blunt.
I like a 6 because when I am hunting,its deer,elk,bear and cougar at the same time.5 with broadheads,one with Judo(condor)new favorite.
I like my GFA quiver, it holds 7 but I only carry 5. The other 2 are hard to get to, and I'm never out that far.

Nah. The bow quiver of the optimist is like mine. One arrow.

(The rest I carry in a side quiver).
I like a full quiver, too. Never have had to use them all, but then again... I'd rather have them and not need them, than to need them and not have them. I like the counter-balance they bring to my bows, too.

Me too.
I like to carry 5 in my bow quiver.
I use the EFA 3 Arrow on two of my bows with a piggy backer and a Judo or G5 small game broadhead sometimes. I was using a selway that held 5 but I'm going to get the new EFA, I think it's the mesa? it's the one with the sheath type cover big enough to hold tree sharks. That will be going on my heavy stealth.
Six five broad heads one judo
I tote 6. 5 Deltas and one SGT. I have used back quivers, GFAs, and bow quivers alike. I just have to say, the bow quiver is my favorite. As far as how many arrows, if you ask Brian (BDann), you need 1 more...
God Bless,
Nathan
I have 4-6. 3 are deer heads and the others are other broadheads for snakes or stumping or to shoot before I get down out of the stand for practice. We are starting to get a few hogs on the place so when they take it over ( prolly this summer ) I'll prolly add another good broadhead or two just in case.

:biglaugh:
My bow quiver holds 6, but I usually have 4 broadheads and occasionally one hex head.
I carry 4 or 5. The 5th one is a Judo head.
Can you use that quiver for a ground blind???
Been using 4 or 5 arrow quivers, jumped it up to 8 so i can more arrows for grouse.
7 arrow Delta Style quiver I carry 5 arrows, 4 braodheads and 1 blunt.
I like 4, 3 BH and one small game
i hunt with a 6 arrow kwikee quiver with 6 2217's on my custom bob lute recurve a 6 arrow thunderhorn boa on my kota prarie swift recurve and on my samick leapord i hunt with the original kwikee recurve bow quiver which i put 3 arrows in withoutvthe hood and ill do the same kwikee recurve quiver on my new recurve im getting
When hunting, I like a Single Stalker on my bow, while I carry 2 more broadheads and 2 or 3 field tips (or judos, whichever feels right at the moment) in a side quiver. When I used a compound, I would carry 3 bh and 3 fields in my bow quiver. With my traditional bows, I don't care for the added weight.
