my new Black Creek Phantom XL made it home today, it is everything i was exspecting and then some. it draws very smooth and is dead in the hand at the shot. i havent had a chance to chronigraph it yet but it seems to shoot a 400 grain gold tip pretty guick. all i can so far is that i am very pleased as usall. here is a few pics of it. i shot this bow trough the chronograph today was very pleased. the Phantom is 48# @28" and 60" long, with a 400 grain arrow is shot 175-178 fps. compared to my Siren which is 53# @28" and 60" long with the same 400 grain arrow it shot 175-178 fps. so im shooting the same speed from my Phantom but with 5 less pounds. the Phantom also has a 16" riser which is 3" longer than the rest of Jims bows, i also had him put more palm swell in the grip and a smaller throat which feels really good. you wont be disappointed if you go with one of Jims Phantoms. NICE! As soon as Jim finishes his phantom recurve so I can shoot it, I'm probably (really I am) gonna order me one!
Nice bow !
Looks like Jim has made another outstanding bow. Last year I went to his booth and found myself enchanted with the rack of bows he had. I can not ever seem to walk away without getting one. He is a nice guy to deal with also.
Beautiful bow, Lonnie! How does it compare to your other Black Creek? Much noticeable difference?
This bow is sweeeet! I was lucky enough to shoot it last night and it is a shooter for sure. Jim did a fantastic job of selecting the wood and the finish is awesome. If you hold it in the light at just the right angle you can see the shimmer of another buckle!
Manitou1, the biggest difference between the Phantom and the Siren is the Phantom has a 16" riser and the Siren has a 13" riser. the Phantom draws very smooth and is shooting the same arrow as the Siren at the same speed but the Phantom is 5 lbs lighter draw weight.
back to the top for a great bow and Bowyer
I have one of his banshee TDRs. Just awesome in every aspect. Jim 's bows are top notch. If you are even thinking about getting your hands on one you will not be disappointed
