Last night I was awakened by the neighbors 6 month old lab puppy going crazy in their backyard(which borders mine. I went out the backdoor and looked through the privacy fence that surrounds my back deck. A BIG boar racoon was attacking the puppy. I ran in the house brace my Great Northern Critter Getter longbow grabbed a cedar shaft tipped with a 160 grain Snuffer and my glove and ran out the front door and around the house an got into position with the racoon paying all its attention to the puppy and picked a spot, drew and released and watched in the light of yet another neighbors big argon light as the arrow hit the big boar right tight to the shoulder and two massive holes erupted in both sides of the racoon and he jumped 6 - 8 feet into the air and hit the ground dead and the puppy tore into him. Now she will think she can scare a racoon to death with her growl. Sorry no pics but it was too messy to take a pic anyway. Just believe me when I say a Snuffer's performance is Too AWESOME!
They are a nasty thing for the critter they hit!

snuffer 160, A puppies bestfriend
well as I was not too sure about the legalities of the situation and as racoons that feed on garbage, which I am sure most city dwellers of the species are, I decided not to eat it and I used an axe to chop him up into catfish swallowable size and threw him into the Wabash.
Hi Curtis
Good for the puppy!! We have had a high rate of rabies up here. Hopefully that was not the case with yours  :scared:

Hey Guys,

Lobo in West Virginia
Works on bears too and moose very large hole fly great use them on carbons with adapters mega foc carbons fly great and anything I shoot gets a extra large hole 2 thumbs up from me
Well I don't know if I hit the coon on the inhale or what but he basically burst open! sprayed blood all over. Luckily it rained afterward. If I can get myself some 5575 Goldtips I'll be hunting deer with these Snuffers this Fall.
been shooting snuffers for years and have shot most all the others, SNUFFERS ROCK!! esp 160's
Did the same thing to a coon trying to come in my house in the middle of the night last year when I let the dog out.
Scared the coon out the door and onto the deck. He did not retreat, so I got the bow and came back on the deck.
He still did not retreat and started following the deck rail around TO me...so I put one through him.
Dark as all heck at 1am, and I hit him back a bit.
However, NOW he retreated, and bled up every piece of fencing he scrambled over going to the front of the house to get in the bushes and expire...
Snuffer did well...washed it off, minute or two to sharpen, and back in the quiver she went...
Take Care,
Marc
